Forums - Gaming - Who here has a Nintendo Wii and does NOT want any HD Consoles?

For now, I'm fine with my Wii. When an HD console that's better than the Wii is released, I'll want one.

For me, it's not a matter of wanting them. There are games I would like to play in all platforms, so I do want them. The big question is: is it worth the price? Having one game system for me is enough and I don't need the other consoles for just a few games I'm interested in.

Want them? Yes.
Would buy games if I had them for free? Yes.
Going to buy them? No.

flamebait thread topic

might as well have titled it "explain why the wii is superior to hd consoles"

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

Most of the interesting software (for me) on the HD consoles like fallout 3 or Farcry 2 is released at the same time on pc, so it wouldnt really be worth the asking price. Added to which i can't afford all the games I want for wii/pc so I've no need to buy more hardware.

1.- Everyone should WANT every console. Such is human nature. The question being whether or not you could afford it, or whether it's really worth it to you. 2.- If you could get all of the consoles for free, you'd have to be an idiot to turn them down (even if you couldn't sell them right back).

1.- Explain why? D:

2.- I would turn down a free PS3/360 for three reasons: - I wouldn't buy games for them - I'm sure all my attention would be going to my Wii - And because of the aforementioned, they would be just a waste of space in my room.

To answer the original topic question: Me.

Because, humans are greedy creatures. We want everything even if there's little reason to have said thing. However, if the object is highly priced or hard to get, we may make the conscious decision that it's not worth it. And if you really can't think of a single game that you'd buy for either console, or even a single use for them, than that's not my problem.

I've got a Wii and don't really plan on getting either a PS3 or an Xbox 360.. Although I've been thinking about buying a PS3 for the Blu-ray drive. If I got the PS3, there wouldn't be too many games I'd buy for it. Little Big Planet definitely looks awesome.

I don't see any reason for me to get either of the two HD consoles, both have only few games (combined) that interest me. 360 has Viva Pinata and PS3 has... Umm... It does have something.
And i own a Wii.

@Montana: I can tell you don't have kids and house full of stuff.
It's also normal for people not to want useless stuff lying around, even for free. I possibly could get you a ton of cowshit for free (my cousin has 120+ bulls). It's a good fertilizer and sold as one, people would pay for it (although new EU directives forbids the use of it as a fertilizer).

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Do I want any of HD consoles right now ? No.

Some reasons :

- most games are or will be available on PC. I've always played on computers, and don't intend on stopping. I may not of the hardware right now to play every new games, but I can always wait a couple years (for a new PC upgrade) to play them.

- I find a lot of games I enjoy playing on the Wii. Combined with gaming on DS, PC, my new PS2, and all the retro gaming (I've being buying quite a few older games lately), I have a lot to play already. I don't understand those "hardcore gamers" who always whine about not having enough games to play. I find too many games I want to play, and too little time and money.

- a lot of the good HD console games are First/Third Person Shooters, which is a genre for which I already have a huge backlog of games waiting to be played. It's really hard for me to be hyped about new/future FPS including on the platform  I own (although they seem nice, Crysis, The Conduit,... don't  interested me much for the moment).

- they're big. It may seem silly, but I don't have that much room and my gaming hobby takes already a lot of space with my current consoles, older ones and all the games. I don't know anyone as much into gaming as me in real life and I don't need to own the newest HD consoles just to be even more "hardcore" than I already am.

- I don't own a HDTV. The whole thing about HD and graphics is not a selling point for me. I'm used to waiting for games that I can't be played on my current hardware. I'm used to playing PC games on low/medium settings and still enjoy them.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want one of those HD consoles someday, but right now I don't see the point. I'll probably get one later on, when they have more exclusive games, when I've upgraded to an HDTV, when they are cheap...

I have only Wii.

Don't need HD consoles because i have a pc.

Would I want an HD console? Definitely. Heck, give me both of 'em!

But right now, I have limited time, and limited resources. So another console is definitely out of the question for now. Right now I'm enjoying my Wii and my DS, and even with those two I can barely find the time to play and beat the games (Currently working on Yoshi's Island DS, yes, I know I'm behind).

I mean, if you really want to, you guys could just send me a PS3 and a 360 free of charge. I wouldn't mind too much.
