At #44 we have a game that has moved around a lot on my list. Most people praise NieR: Automata for its story and while I think the story has some wild high points, the real appeal for me is getting to experience that Platinum level combat in a longer RPG type game. Really what drags it down a bit is not so much what the game lacks but what it has on top of that, such as a tad much repetition to complete the story and a somewhat overused hacking mini game that doesn't have nearly as much depth as the real combat. I do like how it blends genres a little bit though and that's even more clear after playing NieR: Replicant. Criticisms aside certainly still one of the best Action RPGs out there.
