Forums - Sales Discussion - May 2024 VGChartz Estimates Thread - Worldwide Estimates Out Now

To give the worldwide data for May 2024 a little longer on the spotlight on the front page I'll wait a little longer than usual before posting the Japan estimates for June. Expect Japan June estimates to be posted around July 15-18. Also gives me time to get all the May monthly articles up without needing to post 3 or even 4 per day.

Why does Circana take so long to collect data? Europe's info are released much earlier

Circana'a Mat Piscatella said "For those interested, we're moving a significant number of products into video games from other industries that is requiring a full refresh back to 1995. Lot o' data. And with the US holiday next week we're therefore shifting the next public release to July 8th."

So that is why May is delayed as much as it is. This also means June data will be posted a little over 2 weeks later if that doesn't get delayed.

I didn't mean the month of May specifically, I meant in general. Circana takes so much time to reveal their data. Much more time than Japan's and European's data to be revealed

Oh okay I thought you just meant for why May was delayed. I honestly don't know the reason as to why it is so much later. I remember Circana data used to be posted in the middle of the month rather than towards the end.

Japan data coming in first makes sense as that is a smaller country than the US. But you would think the Europe data would take longer than the US as it is coming from a lot of countries.

Pretty much the same as April just with the PS5 and Switch doing a tad worse and the Xbox Series a tad better. Next month will be a tough comparison to the PS4 for the former though and while the Switch had its 2nd worst month ever it looks like it could avoid hitting a new low till next year which is impressive.
