Safe to say that Amazon has no objections at this stage I think, the company who actually still has a Cloud service running unlike Google, Lol.

Really does seem to be only Google/Sony...I strongly dislike both Google and Amazon but I'd love if Microsoft offered Amazon a Cloud deal as just a middle finger to Google, Lol. I know they likely won't but it'd be hilarious optics. Imagine Microsoft offering their largest competitor a Cloud deal meanwhile Google doesn't get one because they closed their Stadia service only a short while ago.

Small update from MLex:

- Microsoft's remedies to address EU competition concerns have received broadly positive feedback from the association representing videogame developers in Europe.

- The European Games Developer Federation was generally pleased with the remedy offer, but it has encouraged the commission to further investigate how they would work in the future when the cross-platform distribution of games becomes more common.

- Sony and Google have criticized the remedies proposed by MS.

Bro could someone tell Google to piss off

I don't even get why Google is criticizing the deal now that Stadia is dead. Sony I 100% understand why they are trying to block the deal.

Google even shutdown the tech behind Stadia despite claims that they would license it out to third-parties to at least keep Stadia alive in some way lol.

Google and Microsoft are in a bitter rivalry with each other, not much more than that, Lol.

They have a lot of rivalries.

  • Office - Google Docs.
  • Azure - Google Cloud.
  • Edge - Chrome.
  • Windows - ChromeOS.

Now they're about to enter into a fierce AI battle with each other. Also a huge amount of Google's revenue comes from Ads so they don't want people going to Bing, hence the rush to fight back against Bing's AI.

And if Activision-Blizzard does go through, Microsoft has been very open they plan on taking on Google App Store. Microsoft keeps supporting regulators in attacking Google and Apple's App Store policies as well, meanwhile Google is encouraging regulators to go after Azure.

Do we have the actual critics that have been leverage by Google. Up to this point I know they opposed but never seen their argument. Almost like they're there for the buffet more than anything else.

I always forget about the rivalry between Microsoft and Google. That does make more sense.

Good point, I've never actually seen what Google's complaint was, Lol.

I'm assuming they just blame Microsoft for Stadia dying and don't want Azure growing any stronger.

Criticism from competitors always has less weight in a market test.

In any case, just today Reuters published that Google said to EU regulators that Microsoft’s cloud practices (in general) are anti-competitive:

Exclusive: Google says Microsoft cloud practices are anti-competitive | Reuters

This was in response to the news that MS is very close to settle the antitrust complaint on cloud in Europe:

Microsoft prepares to settle EU antitrust complaint on Cloud - Bloomberg News | Reuters

It’s obvious that MS, Amazon and Google have a complicated relationship in the cloud business.

Google can kindly stfu. You quit the race almost as soon as you signed up to take part, so go ahead and pipe down about how the race should be run.
