So let's catch up: #27: Meet a talking skull. #26: Just get up the hill, to have phone reception for an important call. #25: Guessed by Machina: UFO: Enemey Unknown (aka XCOM: UFO Defense) #24: You can see your final goal sitting in the landscape throughout the game. |
26) Maybe A Short Hike?
24) I can think of a few candidates, but I'm guessing Breath of the Wild.

Both are absolutely correct, which brings your total of correct guesses to five, only one behind coolbeans.

Correct.
This was, at least for me, the swansong of the PS2, the last truly great game the system received. By the time Persona 4 was released in Europe, the PS3 had been out for over two years, this being the last new game I bought for the PS2 (not counting later digital purchases on PS Store for example) before I moved on to the next console generation as well. There aren't many better ways to end a generation than with Persona 4.
While almost every aspect of the game is great, the main reason it is this high on my list are the characters and story. The music by Shoji Meguro is great, and the battle system is a lot of fun, but the main reason I kept playing Persona 4 was to see the next story beat and character interaction. In fact, a few times those were the thing that kept me playing through the repetitive and overlong dungeons that were testing my patience at times. There are certainly some weaker elements in the game, but they rarely bothered me due to the strength of everything else it has to offer. This is also one of the games I really need to go back to at some point. It's been a long time since I've played it last, and I'm curious to see if my opinion on it would change in some way if I played it again.

Correct.
And starting out the top 25 strong, we have yet another of one of my favorite platformers. Another, as I’ll say again, tightly packed game thats so perfectly well made and a blast from start to end. The perfect amount of difficulty thats not too easy or too hard, and has a ton of emotional moments that create a really solid story. Could easily see this gaining on the list with a replay.
