Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anybody stopped double dipping this year because food and gas prices skyrocketed?

Surprised no one mentioned they double dipped on a digital version for a couple of bucks for convenience when they already own a physical version.

I've only done that when the game was free with the Games with Gold, or PS Plus.

I do have plenty of those that I bought but when free on PS+ I deleted my install to add the digital to the library just in case.

I rarely double-dip. I bought Doom 2016 for the PS4 when it came out and I also bought the Xbox version back in 2017-18 after I bought an Xbox One X because I wanted to play it in 4K. I think that was the last time.

I have re-bought a few older games that were re-released, though I'm not sure that counts. For example, I have Mega Man 2 for the NES, the Wii U VC, and through both the Anniversary and Legacy Collections.

Fortunately, there really aren't many games I'm really dead-set on buying this year. I already picked up Elden Ring when it was on sale, I do want to pick up Horizon Forbidden West at some point, and I plan on getting GoW: Ragnarok when it releases. While I'm usually fairly judicious with my spending, I'm even more so lately because of necessities have gotten more expensive.
