1999. Anyway, if it was not obvious enough, read even just the poll options and think about it another time, actually, if you pay so much attention to me to be this bothered, that should be plain obvious for years now. I truly love the game, and I love to talk about it, and my question was real on this thread, but what I do 95% of my time here has been pretty obvious, hence the joke-ish air of any and every poll I've ever done on this site. But, letting the obvious explanation everybody else here but you doesn't need, as I said before to that pathetic overreaction of yours, just fuck off. You have a problem with it? Ignore it, report it, scream on your pillow for all I care, but just fuck off. |
I didn’t need an explanation.
But seeing as you gave me one, why did you take it like this if what I said was, based on your wording, pretty accurate?
If you don’t like being told about how you convey yourself here, don’t convey yourself here.

Pretty much. Sony getting SE. means absolutely nothing for LoD.
I actually have doubts that Sony would put Bluepoint onto a LoD remake. Will be a very costly endeavour for a very niche game.
They were going to buy Leyou for a billion dollars. They can very easily get SE. |
You think SE costs the same as Leyou?
Also, you think sony is going to waste 5-8billion budget on SE? Why? It makes no sense business wise and its too risky. They get their games anyway on the console.
Sony is nowhere near as rich as microsoft, google or apple, remember that.

I don't care for this argument (because risk or not, Sony could afford them), but Sony not being as rich as those others is irrelevant.

Yes, my mistake on the value of Leyou and SE.
But I don't think these deals only come down to money, though I'm sure they're always a primary mover.
As for why it makes sense for Sony:
1. FF14 as a GaaS title.
2. Yoshi-P is a hot director to have in your company.
3. JRPG development knowledge.
4. SE's ties with external studios will help strengthen XDev Asia/ Japan.
5. POTENTIAL exclusivity of key IPs.
6. Direct access to tons of legacy content to boost the top tier of PS+.
7. SE IPs have a lot of room for growth in a multimedia landscape.

Yes and Sony used to get all the activision and Bethesda games and they sold twice as much on Sony consoles and now they never will again unless Xbox says so. If they don't get them MS likely will and same goes for everyone else at this point. MS has shown they want it all and are trying to make Sony irrelevant and go out of business so Sony must buy some before they lose every prominent previously third party franchise.

Nah. Microsoft won’t, and can’t, have it all. They’ve also made less acquisitions than Sony.

Because LoD is better than all of those combined? Anyway, they don't need to do one of the other, they could release FF16, then LoD, then FF17 online, an so on. With Sony's backing they certainly can do it. |
Won't discuss personal preferences, but on bottomline those generate a lot more profit.

I think its a bit understated, but Sony went from near bankruptcy at the start of the last decade, leading them to focus on their entertainment pillars as they slowly reduced their debt, to tripling their market cap and increasing their profit margins significantly before the launch of the PS5. Has there been a better company turnaround in the last decade than Sony? |
I can't think of one offhand, but there probably has been. Lots of companies tripled their market cap in the last decade. Lots of companies significantly increased margins. Lots of companies reduced debt.
The last decade saw one of the great bull runs in history. Many, many companies did extraordinarily well.
