Rumor has it that Half Life: Alyx is making its way to PSVR2. It would be one hell of a way to introduce yourself into VR gaming lol.

That would be fantastic. I'd definitely pick it up. But you know, I'd like Sony/ Valve to go further and to bring over updated ports of HL1, 2 (and the episodes) and give them basic VR support (but can be played traditionally).

Would be great to have the entire mainline series on PS5.

I feel like that would take a ton of effort to do. But a remake of Half Life 1 & 2 and the episodes with VR support would do absolute gangbusters.

So Sony will release ahardware add on for the hardware you can't find anywhere in stores. Oh neat so this hardware will be scalped and Sony will have 2 new systems impossible to find. Why not focus on getting more PS5's out there before releasing add one system?

I don`t think there will be that much demand that scalpers will be a thing. But I like your optimism.

I've heard Sony is trying to create games that are adaptable to "standard gaming" and "VR gaming"... success in this area would be interesting for the future of VR as it would greatly improve "amount of content" and " financial viability of the product"...
I hope they can create games that deliver a good experience in both VR and "standard gaming" at the same time.
I've also heard that these new Headset/Controls are going to be a big help in the quest to create this "adaptive experience" valid for VR and standard gaming. For example, the "motion sickness" problem has seen notable improvements and the new controller comes with many new options for commands and gameplay.

For me RE7 already showed a game that works quite well on PSVR and Regular.

I hope it's backwards compatible with the original. I have a huge catalog of PSVR games and I'd hate to leave them behind when I finally transition.

If you order on Sony customer relationship they send you and adapter for PSVR to use on PS5, and you can play the PS4 VR games on it, not sure if there is any that isn't compatible.

I'm hoping I can use my old games with the new headset. Maybe even with better performance.

Still can't get my hands on a PS5 but if possible, I'd love to get that adapter now. I know I'm getting the console sooner rather than later.

What that comparison tells me is that Quest 2 is an impressive piece of hardware. That small field of view is a big detractor. But other than that, it sounds pretty awesome.
