Yeah, this race is over.
PS4 and Xbox One aren't selling another 6 million units, with the former's last quarterly sales a mere 200k and no holiday boost for either according to VGChartz numbers. The better consoles won.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Then the universe!! Okay but seriously Switch will likely top PS4 in the US in January. Barring us not being overtracked in December.

Wii has one more significant holiday season then levels off; it all comes down now to how much stamina Switch has beyond 2022.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Switch will shrink the gap to below 7 million once December numbers are in.
I feel like it can outsell it by end of 2022 in the U.S, if not, then early 2023.

I don't get why you are so damn pessimistic so often. While Switch's holiday sales in 2021 will be a bit lower than expected, its LTD in the USA will be ~34.5m by the end of December already. Afterwards it's only a gap of ~7.20m left to go which can be accomplished by the end of 2022 if things go well. Sales in 2020 were ~9m, sales in 2021 will be 8.0-8.5m. A decline in 2022 is likely, but that's not a problem.

It's a done deal just like Switch vs. PS4 worldwide. The remaining question is by how much Switch will win these comparisons.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I guess it is just hard for me to shake the anxiety that Nintendo will replace the Switch too soon.
