Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Should Give Metroid Prime Federation Force Another Go

Oh hell no.

Let that shit die.

Metroid should never ever ever ever never ever be multiplayer.

No pun intended but Metroid is about a sense of dread. Solitude. Atmospheric. Turning it into online shooters and shitty Rocket League clones destroy that. Some series just don't work branching out. They can do the Fed Force concept again WITHOUT the Metroid name. Every time Metroid tries to break away from what made it good it fails. Metroid Dread is everything Metroid SHOULD BE. Metroid Prime is everything Metroid SHOULD BE. Hunters, Fed Force is not. Metroid is a great series but it's not as versatile what you can do with it like Zelda or Mario.

Thought I'd never see the day when someone treated Hunters that way. That game gets way less hate than it deserves.

they had a cool concept with great potential but poor execution, so it's worth giving it another chance

3DS was definitely not the right platform for this move, and the character models look very unappealing to begin with

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I'm sure Nintendo could retweak the game to make it work, but not within the Metroid series, not anymore. The terrible timing of Federation Force stained the title too much, better take the gameplay and try to use it for a new IP.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I don't think so. The bad PR for Federation Force hurt its sales and would hurt sales of a heavily expanded remake or sequel.

Tbh I feel like giving a third person 3d game another go would be a much better move. OM was a flawed game held back by silly choices by when the game got going it showed the potential of the approach. An example is the clash with Nightmare or the post game section, another game with better care and handling can easily become a key title in the library.

Metroid has the potential to have three different approaches at once in 2D, first person and third person 3d.

Yeah. Basically make it a Metroid game in the Breath of The Wild engine.

Nintendo fans' ideas on how to make new games in their favorite series:

Pokémon: make it like Breath of the Wild but with Pokémon
Splatoon: I hope that desert in Splatoon 3 is an open world like in Breath of the Wild
Metroid: basically make it a Metroid game in the Breath of the Wild engine
Donkey Kong: it's time we got a 3D DK. Take some cues from Breath of the Wild and you're good to go
Pikmin: we need Pikmin 4 to be the Breath of the Wild of Pikmin
F-Zero: it's been too long. The franchise needs a proper refresh, like Breath of the Wild
Star Fox: we need it to be an open world. Like Starlink, that was the perfect blueprint for a Star Fox game
Chibi-Robo: I don't get why Chibi-Robo can't get an ambitious game like Breath of the Wild

Zelda: Breath of the Wild sucked. Weapon durability is the worst. We want real dungeons and good story back.

Zelda never had good story.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just take the MP mode from Metroid Prime 2 and convert that?

Like, that is easily a far better proposition right?
