Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch Data Analysis: May Update (NS has record best May Year 5)

Hi everyone, here is the update for April:

The NS had an incredible month, lets review it:

1)With less than 1M to go, the NS aims to surpass the X360 lifetime sales this month.

2)The DS took back about 1M in gap difference, both consoles are still really close.

3)Only the DS has sold more on April Year 5. The PS4 had the second place with 1M.

4) Next month should be a much more interesting battle between the DS and NS. Can the Switch earn another montly record? It would need to average a bit under 400K units per week, something that seems possible.

5) Will the NS be able to beat what it sold last year in april? It would need 1.8M units or an average of 450K units per week to do it.

Hi everyone, here is the May update for the Switch

The switch had an amazing month, let's dive in a little bit!

1)Switch is still selling amazing, at 28M in past 12 months.

2)Switch Passed the Xbox 360 and now it is lining up to pass the PS3.

3)The DS still has quite a lead at 1.1M in the Gap chart with the switch, but the next few months should lead to a shorter gap.

4) NS set the May year 5 record by beating the DS by over 80k.

5) NS sold a bit less than may last year.

6)Next month, the NS sets it's sight on another month record, as it needs 1.5M to beat the DS. With 5 weeks, this should be a doable feat.

How will E3 affect sales for the Switch?

With a few releases this month, this should be quite interesting, can the switch reach 2M in June?

Still trailing the DS, but DS fell quickly in year 6&7 so if switch can keep up for another 6-12 months it should have an easier ride.
