Seahawks games are never boring man. Would be lovely if we could ever just win in a blowout.

Your kicker makes a 46-yard FG earlier in the game like it was nothing. From the ~5-yard line, you don't trust him to make another.

I think they were right to go for it. Figured if Seahawks were going to march down the field, they'd likely make the 2-point conversion (I'm aware they didn't, but considering they didn't need to makes the scenario different).

Blame the playcall on 4th & inches. Should be a QB sneak every time.

It's easy to criticize the decision in hindsight,  but it really wasn't that bad a call. They'd been shredding the Seahawks defense with the run that entire quarter, and if you get that first down, the game is 100% over. Making a FG would have given them an 8 point lead, which again, in hindsight, knowing that the 'Hawks didn't covert the 2pt conversion, would have been enough....but Zimmer also knows the Russ is capable of converting those types of situations, and it would be preferable not to go into overtime, where you gotta let a coinflip decide the game.

Not many picks that demand consideration this week. First off, the Bears still suck.

Jaguars vs. Texans is a matchup where I am not ready to believe that the Texans are absolute basket case this season. Contrary to the Falcons who have failed me time and time again, except against Green Bay where they did what they were supposed to.

Then there's the third game, Colts vs. Browns, which is tricky. The Colts have a good defense, but the Browns offense has been coming together. The Colts offense has Philip Rivers who is past his prime and always good for giveaways, so despite me rooting for Indianapolis, I'll side with Cleveland.

The other twelve games were all easy picks. But again, the Bears still suck.

When I read this last night, I knew we were fucked with our predictions. You are a CURSE!

There were only two upsets on Sunday (Raiders and Dolphins won), so the prediction league is doing well in week 5.

Out of now only 14 games this week, there were only five that didn't receive an unanimous vote of confidence. One of them was the Thursday game where a single guy picked the Bears. Another three of them were on Sunday, exactly the games I talked about in the post above. I got all three of them right because of my consideration.

The final toss-up game of week 5 is Chargers vs. Saints where two people picked Los Angeles.

Can't believe the Vikes passed on the FG. What a dumb move.

Outside of a brief few minutes in the early second half where the whole team fell on their collective asses and kept giving the Seahawk's offense great field position from TOs, the Minny D mostly had Seattle under control. I get that you trust your running game to continue gashing the D like it had been all game, but A) your lead running back is out of the game, B) that gashing came against a D that was on its heels, confused and constantly misdirected, not against a goal line wall, and C) trust your freaking defense to stop the Seahawks like it had been doing all night long minus those aforementioned few minutes. I know it's Russell Wilson at home, but it's Russell at home with no crowd, with one time out, having to march down the field and get it in the endzone twice just to send it into OT.

If that happens and the Vikings lose, I sleep better at night.

Agreed. Going for the win right at that moment is something you can risk when you are up 7 or 8 points, because worst case is that the game gets sent into overtime. But when you are up 5, you kick the field goal to create the situation that worst case is overtime.

Usually it would feel good when the Vikings lose, but this game was against the Seahawks who have shaped up to be the Packers' biggest competitor for the first seed in the NFC and the two teams won't play against each other this season, so there won't be a head-to-head tie-breaker.

Anyway, the biggest priority for the Pack right now is to go to Tampa Bay and kick Brady's ass, because that will earn them the second head-to-head tie-breaker against the competitive NFC South, which then in turn will really only leave the NFC West teams. Of which they'll only play the 49ers (week 7), so the schedule allows Green Bay to settle things early. If they beat the Saints (already done in week 3), the Bucs and the 49ers, then there are just the Seahawks and Rams left in the way. Which would be a favorable setup because all the NFC West teams play each other hard, so there's a good chance that they'll drag each others' win total down. The NFC North does not look anywhere close to as strong. Anyways... first thing on the Packers' agenda is to beat the Bucs.

Half an inch.
If that ball had been just half an inch to the left of the upright...
Man, I feel for Chargers fans right now. Sorry, carnal. (My cousin.)
