June 2020 is the 40th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for in Europe. During the latest month, the Switch closed the gap by 30,995 units when you align the launches of it with the Wii. In the last 12 months the Wii has outsold the Switch by 791,728 units. The Wii is currently ahead of the Switch by 6.94 million units.

The Wii launched in December 2006, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

The 40th month for the Nintendo Switch is June 2020 and for the Wii it is March 2010. The Switch has sold 16.32 million units, while the Wii sold 22.25 million units during the same timeframe.

The Wii sold 33.88 million units in Europe during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 18.56 million units to outsell the Wii.

June 2020 is the 40th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for in the US. During the latest month, the Switch closed the gap by 71,816 units when you align the launches of it with the Wii. In the last 12 months the Wii has outsold the Switch by 360,789 units. The Wii is currently ahead of the Switch by 6.85 million units.

The Wii launched in November 2006, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

The 40th month for the Nintendo Switch is June 2020 and for the Wii it is February 2010. The Switch has sold 20.52 million units, while the Wii sold 27.37 million units during the same timeframe.

The Wii sold 41.70 million units in the US during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 21.18 million units to outsell the Wii.

Even all these years later, it's crazy how much of a beast the Wii was. Even with Nintendo dropping the ball in its last two years, it's first four were monstrous.

The Wii was the definition of lightning in a bottle.

Switch vs PS3 Sales Comparison in Europe - Switch Lead Grows in June 2020

June 2020 is the 40th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for in Europe. During the latest month, the Switch grew its lead by 112,501 units when you align the launches of it with the PlayStation 3. In the last 12 months the Switch has outsold the PlayStation 3 by 192,636 units. The Switch is currently ahead of the PlayStation 3 by 540,087 units.

The PlayStation 3 launched in in Europe in March 2007, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do lineup.

The 40th month for the Nintendo Switch in Europe is June 2020 and for the PlayStation 3 it is June 2010. The Switch has sold 15.32 million units, while the PlayStation 3 has sold 14.78 million units during the same timeframe. The PlayStation 3 didn’t reach current Switch sales until month 43.

The PlayStation 3 sold 34.99 million units in Europe during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 19.67 million units to catch up to the lifetime sales of the PlayStation 3.

Now this is an interesting one; a Nintendo system challenging a Playstation home console in Sonyland. Close race so far, will be interesting to see which one wins in the end. 

The PS3 is also the worst selling PlayStation console. Well if you ignore the failure that was the PS Vita.

True, but it still did very well in Europe due to the brand's power there.

It's similar to Switch vs. 3DS where the 3DS was aided by early price cuts and revisions to keep it close. On the graph the PS3 already got its €200 and €100 price cuts, so there's nothing major left and it has already fallen behind Switch again.

The difference between the 3DS and PS3 is that the PS3 received a lot more third party support, so it could maintain good sales for a longer time. Switch won't break away from the PS3 with a sharp upwards angle like it did break away from the 3DS, but it's still going to win.

Actually the PSP is also worst selling console than the PS3, but yes PS3 is the worst selling home console from Sony.
