Forums - Sales - Chart-Track: PS3 outsold 360 for last 15 weeks; Wii outsold both combined

Well VGC has exactly that, last 15 weeks PS3 outselling the 360.
http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=UK&cons2=PS3&reg2=UK&cons3=X360&reg3=UK&start=39362&end=39551

Although the Wii has not been double them combined, so perhaps Wii is undertracked or 360/PS3 are overtracked?

VGChartz Hardware data for the period 05th Jan 2008 to 12th Apr 2008:

ConsoleWiiPS3X360
UK
578,433
376,333
297,163

If you add 15% to wii and take off 15% from PS3 then wii is more than 2x PS3.   No way to say which source is more accurate, but if you assume they are both within 10%...

Remember, ioi adjusted the PS3 sales up like 50k a while back based on shipping numbers from Sony. Maybe if those 50k were taken back things would line up.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

the shipping numbers was a big mistake IMO i remember it was several weeks after sony said they "sold" a million before chart-track said they did

Wouldn't suprise me if we are a little low on Wii sales in the UK (and Europe in general) - as with America it is a hard system to track with constant supply issues. Up one week, down the next.
So supply is about as bad in Europe as America?

VGC under tracking *has* to be the case, as the Wii has had "more than" 50% of the sales in Europe over the last 3+ months, and just had nearly 60% of the sales in America in March, and yet its percentage is hovering around 44.3%. In Japan it gets more than 75%.

The Chart-Track suggestions make it sound like the Wii has had 55-60% of the Chart-Track tracked market over the last 15 weeks.  Domination.

Clearly, the Wii's percentage of market share should be slowly approaching its respective numers.

Well, we should know more on the 24th of this month when Nintendo releases its shipment numbers for January through March.

Link?  I don't see anything about the wii with a 50%+ market share in Europe.

Wii seems a bit undertracked

Wii =/= 2xPS3

Yeah it could be :? Still the fact that the PS3 oustodl for 15 weeks the 360 is great . I wonder how much will it be able to keep it up ...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

@TheBigFatJ - Chart-Track is just for UK. Wii is not more than double the PS3 everywhere else in PAL.

We're saving up these types of announcements. We'll look at the results for the financial year and make a sweep of changes all at once, if necessary.

Wii is a fad.

probably forever. Even GTA4 is not going to be better for MS in UK due to retailers info about preorders
