The Origami King couldn't even hit 40 points.

2 points was already a record low (or at least prior to this year, I think) and yet we have 3 games with 2 points.

COMG has truly fallen out of it.

Good day for PlayStation.

4 games.
2 points.

This makes me curious what the lowest total aggregate points for the entire chart has been. The highest is almost certainly just going to be be whatever the highest game of all time plus the other 19 entries but the lowest aggregate total might be right now.

Only the lowest aggregate so far. Just wait 13 days and I feel certain we'll have an even lower aggregate, sadly.

The major Japanese thirds bet against the leader. The result is the market goes down. When thirds publish, treat consumers like a second class citizens.

I mean, unless the major Japanese third parties were going to make more of stuff like Taiko and Fishing Spirits, them being on Switch wouldn't really improve all that much.  And even when third parties did try that angle, there were games like Ninja Box which maybe sold 10k. And even 3rd party staples that have flourished on Nintendo systems in past like Sumikko Gurashi and Yo-Kai Watch have declined as well.

It won't be long now until there's not enough to make a top 20.

Taiko and Fishing Spirits are popular games in Japanese arcades. That's the reason behind their success on consoles.

You're looking for some connection to Ninja Box that doesn't exist. They have nothing in common besides being marketed to children. Which applies to most video games anyway.

When the PS3-based arcade game Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost On is only coming to the PS4 it's clear this isn't about power. This is a deliberate decision to keep action Gundam games from Nintendo platforms. Bandai Namco has been like this for several years now with several of their franchises.

You can pretend that the market for these games just isn't there on the Switch (just like they do) but have fun watching every single one of these games decline in sales and fade into obscurity.
