Demo aways seems a good idea. All games must have a demo.

No, I wasn't putting any comparison with Yokai Watch. I said "since Yokai Watch". In other words, there hadn't been any bigger third party new IP in Japan after Yokai Watch that was bigger than how Elden Ring just performed. So reading "For best or worst, the Japanese market it´s only Nintendo now, Sony it´s a figurative character" made me laugh so hard because it's like you didn't at all look at the most recent sales thread or something. It's akin to walking outside in the snow and complaining about how hot it is or something, just totally making the wrong statement at the wrong time. |
Looking at aggregate sales in 2022, Sony is less than 20%, and has all thirds on board. It´s a shame.
Famitsu Top 50 2022 (Unofficial Ranking)
TOTAL: 4.734.449
NSW: 4.250.526 (89.8%)
PS4: 330.506 (7%)
PS5: 153.417 (3.2%)

Omg, amazing boost for Kirby. 300k debut would be amazing.

Perhaps you should take a look at the best selling games of 2022 in Japan first before making that statement. You also need to accept the fact that Nintendo games are behemoth in Japan that makes other games look tiny in comparison.

Forgotten Land looks set to be a big hit in Japan, and likely another addition to the Switch's evergreen corps.

My post on just the page before this is as follows.
"38 pre-orders for the only Nintendo game on the entire list.
4 combined pre-orders for the 11 third party Switch games on the list.
Seems about right."
I am in agreement with you. Nintendo games are behemoth.
Kirby sucking up the points
Last edited by Link_Nines.XBC - on 06 March 2022Famitsu Top 10 Switch Launches:
Kirby is looking like it will launch higher than Momotaro, making it the biggest launch for the franchise in Japan
There is also an OLED Bundle on the official Nintendo store which will help with the shipment numbers depending on how large the supply is there.
Looking very likely that this will be the first time a game in the franchise surpasses 2 million units in Japan.
Super Mario Odyssey is the best comparison, which finished with 434pt on COMG. The main thing to consider is the stage of life of the Switch and how much larger the userbase is right now compared to 2017. This is what will help Kirby Forgotten Lands to end up with a similar launch and lifetime sales to a historically much bigger franchise.
Nintendo are going to have to patch in those preorders into mouthful mode if this keeps up
73 pre-orders over the weekend for Kirby. Tremendous.
