^^ Although if that was true about MS, why didn't Sony jump at the opportunity. Idk, did SE just sell to the first buyer? I have no idea how this works.

With as many studios that Xbox will now have, they could make new IP's to be on par with everything out there that they're not buying. They just need to get busy.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

I read a tweet that summed it nicely.

“Square is really more interested in Crypto than Tomb Raider. What a time to be alive.”

Watch Embracer Group get WBIE.

I’m actually thinking Ubisoft at this point. Embracer specifically pointed out France as one of the European countries they want to make more acquisitions in.

I'm actually expecting now that Square went down in value after this sale, this sets them up for Sony to swoop in for a lower price.

Jeff Grubb went so far as to tease as such.

MS going after Crystal & Eidos would've made bigger waves with me than Acti-Blizz.

Same here. I obviously recognize that in the grand scheme of things, Activision was a much better play for MS. On a personal level tho...I'd trade Activision for CD and Eidos + the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Thief IP among others in a heartbeat. Oh well...can't always work out perfectly for us aye? lol

Still absolutely stunned by this deal. To give up so much for so little, in the current market...crazy. If anything, to be in a place where you, as the head(s) of Square are even CONSIDERING agreeing to such a low deal...it should be a fucking epiphany moment lol. Like, holy shit, how badly have we mismanaged these studios and IP?! We gotta make some serious changes in our organization! But no, it's Square, so they gonna take a few pennies on the dollar to throw at the blockchain. RIP

Xbox can't acquire every AAA in existence...

Of course not, they have limits to what they can acquire. That is why I would rather the remainder of what they are allowed to acquire be studios and IP's I care about, as opposed to Activision-Blizzard which offers me very little I care about when the biggest won't even be exclusive.

Yeah, for me, the Activision Blizzard deal still feels weird and honestly out of place.

The ZeniMax deal felt right when it was announced. When I think of franchises like Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Wolfenstein, Fallout, and Quake, I think of PC and Xbox.

BGS games always had deals with Xbox prior to Skyrim being fully multiplatform for either full exclusivity of their games like Morrowind, or timed exclusivity on their games like Oblivion, but even to the point that it included DLC. I remember Fallout 3 DLC was exclusive to the 360 for a while.

So that deal felt right to me, but Acti-Blizz.......just doesn't seem like a proper fit lol but that's just me. It definitely is a proper fit financially from Microsoft's perspective lol

Imagine wanting MS to acquire what's left of Square now lol

"No sooner than 2 years from now"

So Perfect Dark Holiday 2024 at the earliest but that is sorta what we all expected anyway!

That sounds about right but it sounds more like Embracer is expecting AAA games from these studios based on the IP that they've just acquired rather than current existing deals. Specifically mentions they expect for that new Tomb Raider to be released 2 in years. Not sure how feasible that will be
