I'm disappointed, I know 343 will be mocked hard for this, they can't ever go a single Halo title without some sort of controversy whether it's Halo 4's MP or Halo 5's Story/Lack of Content, Halo MCC being broken, now cutting staples of Halo out even with a year delay, I know the delay is short (unless it receives a further delay) but they had an entire extra year, they receive the most resources, manpower, money of all the XGS, others would kill for this level of support and 343 always seems to mess it up.

At this point, I'm sorry, but they deserve to be mocked. I know they're working hard, but like wtf kind of priorities do they have over there? They launched Halo 5 barebones, and people were cross with them for not having splitscreen co-op, now for the next game instead of learning their lesson, they go one further and don't have any co-op whatsoever available when the game ships. People were bitching about the graphics, and the Craig of it all, but fucking hell clearly they got much bigger issues over there when they can never launch a damn Halo game with the series staples that everyone knows and loves.

Maybe its me but I really care about a polish experience that they can deliver on launch then a few missing features that will arrive later.  Forge and Co-op are just not something I really care if it makes it at launch since the first thing I will do is play the SP by myself.  I only do Co-op after I finish the game and I care very little about Forge since I never use it.  At the end of the day, gamers are always going to bitch about something.  I rather the team be focused on getting the most important feature released which is the SP campaign and worry about the other stuff later.

I'm disappointed too but at least wait until we see more of the game before comparing it to one of the most broken games in recent memory which was also one of the most overhyped games from the very start due to the studios pedigree but ended up being...Yeah...You know what I mean!

Well lately I've been trying be hip and up-to-date with my social media behavior and overreact to everything. Was just about to type some death threats to devs and cancel my pre-order while I'm at it.

But seriously, they should at least delay it for 3 months then and it's not a big deal. Even no split-screen was an issue for Halo 5 and hurt the game. Many people including myself want to share the first playthrough with a friend. Personally I can wait and play something else until they add co-op but it's not good for the game.

That's actually the point.  Why delay the game just so that people who want co-op.  Since you will wait until its in the game then why punish the people who actually do not care if co-op is in the game at launch.  I mean I actually really do not care if co-op or forge is in the game at launch.  I usually do not like my first run in a game in co-op.  Also forge is not something that needs to be in the MP at launch as most will play the stock maps and get use to them first before delving in the forge stuff.

There is absolutly no need to hold up the game for those features since there is a huge community that will play the game without it.  For people who want Co-op and forge, well you still have the option to just wait until its released.

This will definitely ignite reviewers though into giving it a lower score. Reviewing what will be in the game, versus what is currently in the game. Should make a fun discussion.

3 months for each season is a long time, it makes me worry they will dripfeed the content.

Oh get out with that nonsense. Delaying a game to actually deliver a complete product isn't a punishment. They should aim to knock this launch out of the park instead of upsetting a big chunk of fanbase.

Threw 100 on Rest of December, just to help diversify the bets.

Eh, I don't think that's long, it also depends how much content is in a Season, lets say, Forge being in Season 3 happens, that's a large content drop in itself, then the customisation, Halo MCC typically adds around 100 items per season and even when I was playing it non-stop for about a month I only managed to clear about two of the shorter seasons, so I think it'll be fine for the average player.

Story content should come about every 12 months I would say? Not really sure, Lol.

Well with dripfeeding I mean as an example.   They have 14 maps that could release at launch but choose to only launch 10 of them and use the other 4 to make S2/S3 look more impressive and release those seasons for example 3 maps each. (Gears 5 had the same issue). Gamers may get tired of the orignal list fast and gave up, but if they choose to go with just releasing all 14 maps at launch you create the possibility that gamers will hate it that S2/S3 each only have one map.

At the moment I am not convinced yet about the amount of maps (especially if some are exlusive to some modes).

Seriously so bummed right now....

It was so important for 343 to launch a complete Halo game, and they couldn't even make fucking co-op happen. Frankly, it's a shit look for Xbox as a whole. This is your biggest IP (maybe not technically anymore, but it is in regards to what people actually associate with your brand), and even with a whole year delay, the developer you've tasked with overseeing this franchise can't deliver on the basics.

It's just not good enough. We should demand better. MS should demand better from their studio. Bonnie Ross clearly needs to go. I don't care how much MS probably likes having a female head of a huge AAA studio, which is clearly rare in the gaming industry...doesn't matter...the positive optics of that ain't outweighing the negative optics of 343 constantly screwing the pooch under her leadership. Or conversely, if you're telling me it's not her fault, find whoever the fuck is at fault for all this mismanagement and give them the boot.

How much time and money has gone into the development of this game? Only for it still be missing core pillars of the series. It's just shit, and it makes me feel bad about MS game studios as a whole. If I can't trust you to get Halo right, I can't trust you to get anything right.

The most annoying thing about the halo news is me seeing hundreds of articles with "campaign co-op" instead of "co-op campaign" which is how it's always been said. Don't know why it's different for halo, it's like sandpaper in my mouth saying it backwards like that.

Campaign co-op sounds right to me as it's referring to a missing feature from the campaign. "Co-op campaign will release after 3 months" may sound like the campaign is co-op only or a separate campaign that is delayed.

Unfortunately I agree with Angelus that this ain't a good look for XGS either. It's not the first game with a messy launch. Gears 5 with all their mtx schemes and other issues comes to mind. It's all well and good now and love the game, but it could've done better.
