I think it's important to say that for the people who do like the look of this new game, whether they're fans of old SR or not, there's nothing wrong with that, and it's not anyone's place to question that or hold it against them. Nobody has to justify why they like whatever game (or other form of entertainment) they like. It is what it is. Just because one is personally frustrated with the way something is shaping up - and voicing said opinion - doesn't mean they oughta try to talk someone else out of finding the fun in it, or something of that nature.

Edit: Not saying that's necessarily what you were doing just now, but I see that kind of thing often, and I don't think it's a particularly good look.

Yeah, I'm ok with him liking it, I was just expecting to enjoy crapping on the game with him xD

Lol I didn't take any offense. And trust me once I play it and if I see it being cringe, I'll be shitting all over it here. In terms of cringe games with characters and dialogue, brings up an interesting conversation. What games would you consider having this criteria? I felt like Borderlands 3 villains were a little cringe even for me. Nothing else comes to mind as of now.

Poll: Will eventually. Been busy on PS5, but will get back on Xbox in November though. Got the collector's Tales of Arise, looking forward to Lost Judgment, Nauts 2, and of course Horizon 5. Halo in December is cool too.

anyone playing Psychonauts 2? I am enjoying it but It has a lot more dialogue than I expected(I think its cleverly written and would make for a great animated show) but I'm honestly not used to so much talking when playing a platformer

Felt like I heard this before but Nick from XboxEra said Bravely Default 2 releasing on Xbox (GP?) months after the PC release, similar to Octopath.

Xbox is the Official Gaming Partner of the England National Teams, across the Men's (Three Lions), Women's (Lionesses) and esports (eLions), as well as Wembley Stadium connected by EE and St George’s Park.

@KiigelHeart

Almost forgot to mention. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is currently on sale (90% off). It's from the same developer as Desperados III and a very similar game.
You should get it quickly (if you haven't already) as the sale only lasts for another 20 hours.

I hope Nagoshi doesn't leave Sega but Sega can hardly compete with NetEase...Whatever Sega offers, NetEase can easily double it, Sega will lose in any battle which involves money against NetEase.

Does anyone know how involved Nagoshi is in the Yakuza franchise lately?

Damn it MS, just man the hell up and buy some JP studios, including all of Sega. I can think of nothing I would hate more than seeing half the Japanese studios owned my CCP aligned Chinese publishers like NetEase and Tencent.

MS is going to lose out on the Japanese market big time, Tencent is likely to buy Platinum which is the worst timeline for me.

If Tencent is the only one that gives what he wants he should do it. Can't blame him.

Not surprising at all. If it releases on PC, don't really see any reason for it to not go on other platforms as well later on.

For all we know, Microsoft could be close to acquiring a few but they like to make a big song & dance about their acquisitions and wait for a special event, Tencent on the other hand (and Embracer) just announce their acquisitions like normal businesses, when they're done.

There will be times where Microsoft is beaten to the punch in many acquisitions by both Tencent, Embracer and maybe NetEase, whoever has the most money isn't all that matters in these deals. Microsoft was lucky to start their acquisition spree early on but now there's some pretty big players in the market also looking for rapid acquisition growth.

Those guys can offer lucrative stuff too, not only are they also billion dollar companies who can easily fund certain projects (so that wouldn't be a worry), they also allow the choice of remaining multiplatform, in some cases they do company share offers, they also have the same freedoms that Microsoft offers, it's known that Tencent is hands off with their (non-Chinese) studios and Embracer is essentially a holding company so they don't touch their studios either.

Tencent will continue to rapidly invest into overseas because China is clamping down hard on them, antitrust lawsuits, banning certain things to do with Gaming which is going to hurt Tencent a lot, they're basically shooting them in the foot and so Tencent is going to start acquiring more overseas companies as a backup.

I do think Platinum is a possibility, Tencent already owns shares in them, maybe Marvelous Inc as they also own shares in them.

As for NetEase, I'm sad to see Nagoshi go, I'm sad that Sega basically can't do anything about it, NetEase is far richer, they can offer Nagoshi better pay, a bigger budget, a bigger studio, whatever he wants, Lol. But from my understanding Sega actually demoted him recently so I kinda don't blame him, I just hope it doesn't hurt Yakuza too much as there's few franchises still alive that Sega have that I care about, everything else is either dead, sucks or not on Xbox, their Western division is doing great admittedly but that isn't stuff I'm interested in, really.

The worst thing about it is that NetEase is a company that makes nothing except tons of mobile battle royale games. If he indeed leaves Sega for this, what games will he work on there. I find it doubtful for NetEase to risk and invest in single player experiences. They will just go safer route and make yet another mobile battle royale.

The problem for Microsoft here is that IMO China has an upper hand in this situation. Something tells me that a lot of Japanese devs will feel more comfortable to work with Chinese companies than with US ones, which will also make it harder for MS to have a chance against Tencent and Netease.
