The massive 180 that fans have made been hysterical. MS announces that they will support XB1 for at least  2 more years and Sony officially makes a comment in response saying that “we believe in Generations” and the fans crap on MS.

With Horizon:FW, GOW: Ragnarok and Gran Turismo all being delayed to 2022 and being cross-gen as well then Sony are doing the exact same thing that MS said they would do support two generations of consoles for two years and fans don’t want to point out the hypocrisy lol.

Sony fans will only care about this if those games are less graphically impressive than whatever MS serves up. That's the simple truth of it.

If MS make cross gen games, and Sony doesn't, then the argument goes "lol all that RDNA2.0 power wasted on weak cross gen shit, while we get true next gen games!"

If MS makes next gen only games, while Sony makes cross gen, the argument goes "lol Sony still killing these shit MS studios even on cross gen, just wait until we go PS5 only, you ain't even ready!"

It only falls apart if Sony games aren't at the absolute forefront of production values anymore.

Is that a thing? I didn't even know. I remember it being floated ages ago, but figured it got canned shortly thereafter. 

But, if the blueprint for how it (more MS IP getting adapted to showbiz) would go down is anything remotely close to what's happened with Halo, where apparently a lot of the studio leadership is pre-occupied with that, getting their attention pulled in all kinda different directions instead of focusing on just making great games....pass. Pass times a million. Even if this upcoming Halo show turns out good, there's no way it was worth the road travelled. 

Saints Row reboot looks cool to me. I know I'm in the minority on this. Pretty bad reveal though when you have to have the people really stressing customization. At first I was like, I can't customize, that's a big staple, gone. Since then it was fixed. Gameplay looks like Saints Row to me as well. Characters I can see people having an issue with, but I'll reserve judgment on that. They don't seem that bad to me though.

Not having personally played it, I don't really have much of an opinion on it. I can see the arguments both for and against either system on paper.

I think it's important to say that for the people who do like the look of this new game, whether they're fans of old SR or not, there's nothing wrong with that, and it's not anyone's place to question that or hold it against them. Nobody has to justify why they like whatever game (or other form of entertainment) they like. It is what it is. Just because one is personally frustrated with the way something is shaping up - and voicing said opinion - doesn't mean they oughta try to talk someone else out of finding the fun in it, or something of that nature.

Edit: Not saying that's necessarily what you were doing just now, but I see that kind of thing often, and I don't think it's a particularly good look.

I think I'm more reserved yet when it comes to the characters. There hasn't bee that much gameplay shown yet, unless they showed a lot more after gamescom. I usually don't like to look at gameplay and go in blind. They might be terrible once I play, but I won't know until I give it a chance. Good thing it's announced sooner than later, so might be eating crow overall. We'll see lol. I think I'm mostly over the SR 2 fans.
