Do you guys even want new FF games. If they weren't called Final Fantasy, who would even bother.

I wanted FF7R part 1 and it's later parts on Xbox, would have paid a decent amount for them too (though not the $60 that Square was charging for the late port on PC). No interest in FF16 though, what they have shown of it looked quite meh to me.

It's actually $70 for the PC port, but that's not even the worst part. This is Square's worst PC port to DATE! Which is saying a lot. Digital Foundry didn't even want to make a video on it originally because of how poor a state the game is in on PC.

Well, the 16 has me intrigued to be honnest :)

I know I'm not in the majority but I really loved FF 12, then I would say 13/13-2 are the next best thing in my mind. So 16 looks great to me (esp. aftrer 15, I really did not like the settings) but 16 is bacl to medieval/fantasy, I'm really looking forward for it.

Will probably end up playing this on my Play Station obviously, but I would have prefered it on Xbox for sure.

Well, I responded in the news comments, but I would not be surprised for this be included in GamePass at some point.

When you bring the 15$ vers 5$, you forget one thing, marketing and customer aquisition which is, by far, the most expensive part of any service like that out there. GamePass will guarantee revenues and player aquisition, at the end Ubisoft is probably making 1 or 2$ per customers (I'm making up numbers here just to illustrate) so a deal with GamePass can most likely be good for Ubisoft. Unless the adoption of Ubisoft+ on console is really that good, this can very likely be a good deal for Ubisoft knowing how GamePass is successful.

Will see in few months anyway, but I'm betting on it.

The cost for gaming subs is balancing subscription revenue with loss of $60 purchasers. Microsoft cannot offer enough money to ubisoft for it to be worth ubisoft giving every gamepass subscriber all of their games and DLC day one.

You are greatly overstating the cost of marketing if you think ubisoft make $1-$2 per $15 sub. That's insane lol.

Actually you are thinking this wrong.  You are pricing a 60 dollar game vs a service but the game as far as revenue for the publisher is not 60 bucks.  its around  30 bucks.  Also you are thinking wrong how these deals run.  You are thinking how a company sells towards consumers and believe its the same price they would do when integrating with another service, its no where near the same or even the model may not be the same.  There are different models for pricing and sharing revenue that both companies can come to an agreement to.  Until the service actually releases on GP, we really do not have a clue what the model will be or if MS will bundle in some fashion.  One thing for sure, is that MS isn't looking for UBI service on Xbox so I am sure UBI is bringing something to the table to get it on their service.

Yeah MS should make a bid to buy Eidos and Crystal Dynamics from SE. Thief reboot bombed, DE: Mankind Divided bombed, Avengers bombed, GotG likely did not meet sales targets and the same goes for Outriders, I also see Forspoken flopping hard there is no hype for that game at all and it looks expensive.

If the deal comes with the Western IP and back catalogue rights then it would be more than worth it even if they have to spend 2 billion plus. Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain, Just Cause, Outriders, Sleeping Dogs etc. there is a lot you can do with that.

Is massive framerate drops on the last levels of GotG normal? Shit feels like it's dropping to 5fps.

I did not experience any frame drops when I played the game but then again, there have been some updates since then so who knows.

I'll miss the magic that E3 used to be :(

So what now then? Will there still be a huge thing around the June time frame where major game companies come out with their own video presentations? Because that's kinda Xbox's deal lol

Can someone just buy the E3 brand? This event Dying is bad because we all saw in 2020 how chaotic it was when it came to gaming news/conferences with everyone doing their own thing.

Man I'll take MS buying anything right now, I'm not picky.

Yeah every publisher, Media Website and hundreds of random people getting their own showcases was terrible we went from 1-2 weeks of pure gaming news to getting it drip fed over 8 months instead.

Biggest issue IMO with E3 2021 wasn't the fact it was online only. Xbox and Nintendo shows were decent enough. The issue was no one else showing up and the ESA letting anyone hold a showcase where most of them were rather pointless.

The Game Awards were held in person only a month ago and it seemed it have worked out fine. Even if it was in limited capacity. I could maybe see Xbox holding an in person event for their showcase with a limited number of people. Sony and Nintendo have both given up on in person events.

That was my first thought! IIRC Bandai Namco's entire E3 2021 presentation was just The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes and literally nothing else lol
