Fingers crossed - Trine 4 is a day 1 purchase for me....

I'm still trying to get the Trine 1-3 physical version for Switch which comes out at the end of this month in the US but it's proving difficult to pre order. Even though I have Trine 1&2 on Wii U I'd be happy to double dip for that physical Switch release.....

Yeah I'm grabbing Trine 4 day 1 also.

The difficulties you're having with the Trilogy pack are probably cos the team isn't quite finished porting Trine 3 yet; it's proving more difficult than the first two as it was made for 2015 PCs and PS4 while the first two were made for PS3/360 and PCs of 2010-2012. As of two days ago Frozenbyte tweeted that they don't have a solid release date yet as a result, but are "working hard to make it happen as soon as possible. Stay tuned".

Makes sense, cheers for the update. Gamestop in the US still has a release date of the end of July for the game but time will tell whether they hit that target..

In terms of pure 2D fighting games, it has to go to King of Fighters Xiii.

Speaking of fighting games, Skullgirls looks amazing.

Also speaking of fighting games, I just bought Guilty Gear Xrd. Always thought it looked super awesome and gorgeous whenever I saw it at a tournament or when watching Evo - it was super cheap on Steam, so it felt like a no-brainer. Hopefully it's as good as it looks.

Many mentioned sidescrolling games aren't 2d games.

Ori and the Blind Forest looks stunning in stereoscopic 3d.

Though I often see them criticized as having "aged badly" I feel the SNES Donkey Kong Country games deserve a mention. Their worlds have such a great feeling of moody atmosphere.

It's really hard to find screens that aren't tiny or of very poor quality though.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.
