I somehow doubt it. I guess they will try acquire Bluepoint. Insomniac doesn't want to be bought, Kojima Productions seems very soon, and not really a studio buy but a Kojima buy.

This relates to something I mentioned in the other thread but I think companies saying "We love our independence" is more PR than anything. Ninja Theory said they liked being independent until they got bought by Microsoft. Insomniac too. I think companies won't go out there and say they hate it and will speak how it works for them. Behind close doors they seem to be more than happy to take a deal.

This isn't to dogpile you twintail. I see where you were coming from with the information we knew. I think these companies aren't upfront about it.

It is fine. I said they didn't want to be be bought but ultimately they were.

Still, I think Insomniac doesn't quite fit what you are saying, considering their independence is something that has existed for like around 2 decades, whereas someone like Ninja Theory pushed that narrative for about a single game.

Considering their working relationship with Sony for those 2 decades (and even Naughty Dog for at lest the PS1 and PS2 years), I doubt they have not been approached numerous times from Sony.

Either way, it puts Sony in an even better position for PS5 then they were already in. So, exciting times ahead.

Bluepoint, Insomniac and Kojima Productions are the most likely targets.

3/3 on this prediction by years end!

Not sure why Sony would buy Kojima Productions tbqh. It is a company based around a single person. If something happens with Kojima that entire studio is dead. Besides, Kojima was gifted the Decima Engine, and was able to churn out a brand new in very quick time. If you ask me, as long as Sony makes their money back on his games, I don't see Kojima moving away from the Decima engine when he can now arguably get his games out even faster since his team knows how to use Decima (and they get to work alongside GG).  I also doubt Kojima wants to be beholden to another company again. But I guess anything can happen.

Yeah I think this is quite possible. The only issue I see is what Bluepoint as a company wants to do. If they are happy with remasters/ remakes then the purchase is pretty easy for Sony. If they do want to actually make their own games then I think the purchase will come later. Bluepoint need to get their own game out (besides their PS3 digital title debut) before Sony considers it imho.
