"Managers had to calm workers and assure them that plans for the company’s next-generation console weren’t affected, said the people, asking not to be identified discussing private matters."

That sounds like sensationalism, to be honest.  It doesn't make any sense.  Why would a partnership to outsource servers have a negative impact on a console that is likely finalized and close to launch?  To the point that anyone would need to be calmed down?  And with everyone knowing how vital Playstation is to Sony?  I don't buy it.

I know It's weird that workers would be like this. I thought Gaikai employees would freak out since they are the main target to streaming? not hardware manufacturers?

Why would they? Gaikai is software, not servers like Azure.

MS cloud infastructure is much more robust than Sony's. Makes sense for Sony to make this move

Both of you are correct, it's just PS now is a division that handle the service while Azure is more of the server hardware. PS now is more of Xbox Xcloud or Livenow or Previous gaikai, They are more of software division. But they are not responsible for cloud hardware A.K.A the server it self .

Xbox team also got blind sided not just Playstation

Eurogamer understands many at Xbox were similarly unaware of the decision, which was planned at a high level within Microsoft.

Both Xbox and PS devisions might be unware however they will most likely not care either. It doesnt affect there jobs.

EG- Why would a PS worker care which brand network there hooking up to? Aslong as its good and why would a Xbox worker care that Azure is being shared with PS?
It doesnt matter.

It doesnt and shouldn't matter.

Yes like Hollygamer said, Psnow is streaming but the infrastructure was through Amazon,so they are simply shifting from one service to another, seems like the MS deal is a win win  with Sony strengthening their position as a key player in delivering optics to the ever expanding AI sector and MS gains a customer and development partner all in one.
