Why is Mafia 3 so high?

Splatoon is just unstoppable, it's still slaying at #1 more than 1 year after release. Good numbers for Octopath Traveler.

This reminded me to look at Media Create CY 2017 report. It is very interesting, I think it is worth a thread, but I wouldn't know how to do it.

The king of legs takes the top 3! And it seems like Overcooked 2 did quite well on the Switch!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Nice. How did Famitsu got it's hand on digital numbers?

But yeah, digital seems a bit strange at times. Splatoon 2, a game you play online, has a much lower digital ratio than Mario Kart 8, which you can very well play solo.

10 years greatest game event!

It is a market that shrinks every year, increasingly difficult to satisfy due to cell phone games. Nintendo is in the last line of resistance but has shrunk a lot of what it already was, playstation then, only fulfilling table.

That doesn't really seem strange to me. Getting a game physically or digitally makes no difference to playing online, but it does make a difference to portability since it's easier to carry digital games with you. And since online focused games are harder to play while moving around due to connection issues going for games you can play solo digitally for portability makes sense.

Ah, that's a good point. I didn't thought of that, it sounds reasonable.

I'm surprised to see a couple digital-only games for Playstation so high. Was there a major sale?

It's nice that Overcooked 2 made the list.
