I agree that the Drum Set sets it apart, but you can also play using buttons or motion controls.
The guy from the OP's video shows some button skills and the motion controls with wii-style drumstick add-ons.

And here's some of the Nintendo music in the game

Watching the first video, I thought that was pretty fast. Then I watched the second video, and the reaction speed is insane. I'm too old for this shit.

They are playing on the hardest difficulty!

Here is a gaijin newbie playing it in easy:

OK, this looks more manageable, like that I could get it right after long, long and frustrating training sessions.

All tracks from the original Japanese version will appear in the west.

Well that's nice!
I assume this has to do with Bandai Namco themselves publishing this, instead of Nintendo. :)
They can add a couple more western hit songs as well if they feel like it, I won't hold it against them.

I'm sure you can do it after trying the basic tutorial :P

The song from Moana will be in Japanese, they will not localise that song; so I'm not sure if they will add or change anything.

From my experience motion controls work bad in this game unfortunately. So, better stick to buttons, or if you wish to pay for additional controller, buy drum controller bundle.

Think the drum controller is a must buy to enjoy it even further.

I do wonder how much they'll ask for it though, you can buy import drums for around 100+

If you order from Japan it should cost around 120$ for game + drum controller bundle. I think western prices will be pretty much the same. I also hope they will offer drum controller separately because I’ve already ordered Japanese copy long time ago.
