Halfway through my replay of the first game right now (Ultra Hard NG+). Can't wait for the 18th.

Is it actually hard? I heard the game was stunningly easy, but I could be mistaken. Maybe it's just a super duper easy platinum.

I read that it's impossible to get all the trophies for Comrades after it was moved from the main game. Not sure if entirely true, or whether that's an issue for you.

Not a issue for me.

I already got my platinum trophy for FFXV (my first platinum lol) and I'm fine with that.

I like getting achievements/trophies but its not a deal breaker for me if there's some I cant unlock.

Yeah, trophies are nice but they're not a deal breaker for me. I like getting 100% on games I love (like Red Dead Redemption II or rock Band or all the Souls games), but with very few exceptions I won't avoid games for bad trophy lists. That is, unless there's a speedrun trophy. Having to beat, say, the original God of War in 5 hours or Shadow of the colossus in I think 7 hours is...yeah no thanks. Not even gonna bother if you expect me to dedicate one block of ongoing, uninterrupted time equal to a full day's work to one single trophy.

Same reason I don't do Shovel Knight or Axiom Verge platinum trophies even if I adore those games. Both of them have 'beat the game without dying' trophies and I think Axiom Verge also has a 4 hour speedrun trophy. Big old pass from me, dawg. Really great game, though. Axiom Verge is the best 2D metroidvania out there that isn't Metroid or Castlevania and I stand by that statement. Yes. Better than Hollow Knight. Better than Ori. Better than shadow Complex. (honestly, I think it's a better Metroidvania than any Castlevania, too, and those games are great. Only super Metroid and Metroid Dread are better.)

It may be different if I weren't doing a NG+ run with all my good equipment from the start, but it's not particularly difficult so far. Definitely a better challenge than normal was, though. You die a lot faster and learning how to neutralize enemy's strengths and exploit their weaknesses becomes more important. It's actually more enjoyable this way imo.

It is quite hard even if you have the best armor and max level. Like you can die in 2 or 3 hits from a level 5 enemy while being level 60. And if you do Frozen Wilds on the ultra hard you have to face level 55 enemies.

The problem is that more than hard it is quite disbalanced. Like besides the final fight I at most failed twice in a battle, but it is a very boring repeat of roll hit once or twice with the strong hit, do it again enemy goes down so you use critical until you kill. And with several enemies you have do roll a lot. And well when you get to the Frozen wild it is like you need perhaps 100 repeats of that for a single enemy.

Holy shit.

Maybe I'm just seeing the differences more clearly now that I'm replaying the first game, but everything truly looks next level in this footage, from graphics to animation to combat. Aloy is so much more fluid and capable, now! Apparently Angela Bassett plays our villain, too. WHAT ELSE HAVE THEY BEEN UNDERSELLING IN THIS GAME?!

A suggestion and a question.

Suggestion: Play Alan wake on the PS5. They nailed it. That 5.1 surround is amazing. That tornado sound behind you chasing you is peak skill. Best of the best.
You feel the tension int he controller when trying to use your flashlight or gun. So adaptive triggers are amazing.
And the haptic feedback is there as well. When your flashlight is "shining" on the darkness hurting it you can tell by the rumbling in the controller. 100% nailed it.

Question: Anyone play Neo world ends with you? I feel like I "soft locked" myself in chapter 2. Like I went from doing a chain 5 on hard to having trouble doing a normal one. Hell I had to drop to easy to beat the level 25 boss because I literally killed all the other enemies and was still only 22.

I went crazy with money and spent all the money (and duplicate pins) on random things. So now I feel like my stats are wrong. Like I don't have the attack to kill things fast at all. Plus the fourth person leaves and It feels like my damage and time are absolutely trash.

I plan to play Alan Wake when the price is good. And haven`t played Neo World.

what do you mean specifically?

Perhaps because of the 'hero lighting' - Aloy, and certain characters I think, are given special lighting so they're always look as perfect as possible.

Oh okay.

I mean the characters look fantastic but the environment looks like they are in a different game lol

The part where all the characters are talking in the town I'm assuming was shown - not the actual gameplay footage.

Could it be "cinematic look" or "camera effects"? Like blur the background to pop up the chars.

Watched it and now I know what was your problem with it. Alloy hair have an extra glow that makes it seems like she was cut and pasted without matching the rest of the game. The closer to the camera she is the bigger this effect is.

Can we just take a second to appreciate how fluid that combat looked in the arena where she went from a melee combo, to grappling to that pole and launching herself into the air, to then shooting an arrow midair... damn they've really upped their game!

Yeah, that bit was my favorite, too.

There could be more Uncharted coming our way. Make it happen ND!

GamesRadar asked Lost Legacy creative director Shaun Escayg and game director Kurt Margenau whether Naughty Dog could make a new Uncharted game at some point.

“I think we can say for certain that we can never say never,” said Margenau, who also served as lead cinematic animator on Uncharted 4.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection review

“Yeah. Uncharted is a franchise we love – that the studio loves, I love, and [Uncharted 4 co-lead designer] Kurt loves,” he added. “It’s a world we want to see more of. So I can certainly say that.”
