Finally announced it. Bluepoint is PS's newest member.

Nice, finally official.

Hopefully with them under Sony's wing they'll have budget and chances to work on new bigger budget games as the teams are really good at tech and remakes. Love to see them try a new IP or something. Not that I'm against remakes but we've had so many lately.

Only thing I can find on this is in relation to the developer mentioning 6k and 8k before release, and never again. Pretty sure falconeer does not have an 8k option in the actual released title. Everything after the date he mentioned trying 8k just says the game is 4k60 or 1800p120.

You're correct, I can't find anything further on it either.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

The first 8k console game in history!

"The Touryst is the first 8K 60fps game for PS5"

Not that the PS5 can currently output 8k video to an 8k display. Renders at native 8k but will be for supersampling and outputted at 4k still.

So going by Youtube and Twitter PS4 can`t even do 4k60fps, but this dev say it do 8k60fps liars =p

Let`s see if Sony will launch a patch allowing the game to output 8k60, since it can output 4k120fps there should be bandwidth.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

4K 120 Hz needs double the bandwidth of 4K 60 Hz

8K 60 Hz needs quadruple the bandwdith of 4K 60 Hz

I hope Sony would invest in the likes of Ember Lab, Konami IP’s or Square Enix.

Well...PlayStation Japan already dropped that bomb. lol

Been kinda slow new week so to get some discussions going how about some rumours brewin'

VideoGamesChronicle sources say that their source/s say that Konami are working on Metal Gear, Castlevania and Silent Hill games. >Link to VGC article.

TLDR MGS3 remake is being worked on and is outsourced to a Chinese dev (early in development) and also remasters of MGS games. There's a new Castlevania re-imaginging in the works and a few Silent Hill games.

Also from a Insider/leaker in regards to what Bluepoint are working on

Take this all with a mountain of salt.

You are right, double the resolution in a single dimension means quadruple bandwidht more or less.

So yep let's say 8k60fps would be double the bandwidth of 4k120fps (one we know PS5 do have), but looking at your table some 8k60fps could be output through 2.1 so at most a fw update could be sufficient.

I saw a rumor about Metal Gear Revengence being made for PS4/5

Only with heavy Chroma subsampling 4:2:0 or 4:1:1.... ergo many wrong colors:
