They've mainly done games for PSVR and PS4 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firesprite

They're a pretty big studio in Liverpool, UK with 265 people and have a few members from Studio Liverpool (and before that Psygnosis) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psygnosis

I'd probably say its in capable hands.

Hope that doesn't make them juggling to many balls at once.

I might be wrong, but it's probably best to think of them as being like 4x Housemarques/Bluepoint Games.

They're not going after being like Naughty Dog or Sony Santa Monica.

If they have 4 teams working on 4 different games then yes I`m totally fine with it. But if they have like same team working on multiple projects that may turn bad.

And if their 4 teams are doing well and have a good management they can start slowly increasing head count to aim for bigger games.

I think FF XVI will be out in 2023 (just like FFVII R part. 2) so you got some time to play it.

no ways it's that's long!!! but yeah, then I'll have all the time in the world!

I'm all into brazil dub for the game, but you want to also have our traffic problems in the game?

lol?

I dunno man, I'm mixed. as in, I liked the game but I don't think it's essential. I don't think you 'need' to play it, but it's not gonna hurt you if you do.

then again, I played the launch version, not the updated version with the Royal content and other many fixes. I hear it's better now.

I'll be playing the Royal edition indeed. Been a while since I last played an FF. 13 to be exact... wow

You dont necessarily have to play XV before XVI.

None of the FF games are related to each other.

that's a fair point

Looking up this patent, it seems like it was first filed in 2015. I'm not sure it's for older devices.

you used BR for battle royale, I changed it to Brazil =]

It's absurd to me how fast this studio is growing.

They've posted ~30 hirings since Sony bought them, so they probably have about 300 people.

And they keep making more openings...

Need to feed all those 4 teams =]

I have no idea when I will be able to get a PS5 due to how hard it is to buy one but I now have a Black controller and blue faceplates. Seems I have this area of my consoles becoming blue. Blue Dreamcast. Blue plate on my PS4. Blue Split pad pro on my Switch in the same corner.

Project Spartacus - I hope the rumor is true about the PS1/PS2/PS3 capability.

Even if it means currently owned physical or digital titles arent usable - I dont mind if there's forward compatibility.

Isn't it PSP and not PS3?

The current emulator made by Studio Japan works on PS1 games (pa rappa and medievil), PS2 (the current PS2 games) and psp (loco roco, patapon).

That's my understanding.

Granted PS3 is the dream...

it's so weird, I LOVE the PS3, but I just don't see myself ever going back to it. So weird, because I'm all about that Backwards Compatibility.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

I was playing Under Defeat on PS3 not long ago with a PS5 controller. Crazy.
