New C&C, yay...
Maybe next year.

Try another 10.

0/10 for me. C&C mobile for a "new geenration" was the straw that broke the camels back.

Get bent EA. You destroyed a beloved RTS franchise, buried it and dug it up again to farm the whales.

It is probably for the best, EA would just butcher a full PC title anyway.
What we really need is a developer with a lot of money, and motivation to make a new IP, or use/re-purpose an existing one.
Developers who have had an indie success, or a successful crowd funding campaign, are probably where we need to look to.

I don't think EA is able to make a quality C&C title.

EA ahs butchered all the PC franchises they've bought over the years.

I wouldn't even see it being for the best, They've basically gone out of their way to piss on long time fans of a beloved franchise.

At this point we clearly need to KS a new RTS, because I don't trust any publisher out there. As much as I'm starting to like THQN, I don't trust them with a AAA PC RTS either.

The only ones who are bothered to make an RTS for PC are indie devs.

Well we do have companies like Sega, Stardock, and Paradox, creating PC RTS titles for PCs.
Frostpunk and They Are Billions were massive successes, who knows what their developers will accomplish in the future.
Indie developers will grow into large studios, and this time they won't have to sell to companies like EA.

I give it a 1. Other than Unravel 2, the show was hot garbage to me

God, what a boring conference. Only thing I’m interested in was Unravel two (Sea of Solitude has potential but didnt show enough gameplay). Dedicating stage time to a mobile dumb down version of C&C was pretty ridiculous.

I make game analyses on youtube:

FFVI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSO6n8kNCwk

Shadow of the Colossus: https://youtu.be/9kDBFGw6SXQ

I gave it a 2 because they gave some space to some inventive games, otherwise itd be a 1. The chery on the manure cake was the Star Wars whatever reveal with a dude talking about it and not even a logo shown.

Most of what those companies are making are 4x/TBS and very sparse RTS titles. The sparse part being Sega with Total War, where the only RTS part is the actual battle.

I'm talking TS as in full on C&C, Supreme Commander, AoE and Starcraft, not grid based, 4X, Company of heroes where you "card" units in like it's Yugioh. None of that fluff. Just you, base building and amassing a large army against your foes. That's all I want. The other variations of the strategy genre put me right off.

I grew up with base building and playing on a map, it's what I've wanted to this day. I don't want any cards, any "radio in the troops off the edge of the map", no taking turns or any grid lines.

It’s pretty embarrassing the only positives for me were Unravel 2 and Sea of Solitude.

Anthem looked especially downgraded and just like overly generic Destiny clone we all expected it to be.

I am not a fan of these live conferences in general. IMO, the only person in tech, off the top of my head, that could do a good live presentation was Steve Jobs, for everyone else I wish they would put more emphasis on the games as opposed to the people (the people are great, but most of them are not really good presenters so having devs and execs speak in videos and press releases outside of the main presentations, IMO, would be better).

With that said, I am super excited about Anthem (I loved Xenoblade Chronicles X and I like Bioware, and this seems like a combo of the two). Though a lot of people I have seen around the net seem to dislike it :(

Shit?

Seriously, this is absolutely atrocious. EA is so disconnected from players I'm shocked they even know what a videogame is.

Nobody wants to see a talk show about Anthem. Sports games are sports games. You got a host who doesn't know that jedi were killed between Episodes 3 and 4, they tried to double down on the whole 'player choice' nonsense and tried to foster goodwill because they give some of their astronomical profits to charity.

What the actual fuck did I just watch.

Before this conference I was in the middle of a lengthy rant about how we're in a new golden age of gaming despite bullshit like this, and EA just had to take the wind out of my sails.

Congratulations, EA, you ruined gaming.

Again.

Yeah but still. Their games are selling like crazy.
