Littering is bad and if you litter you're a bad person.

But at what point does all my recycling counter the littering that a trash service picks up off the road daily and gives the trash person a job?

Trash in landfills is just as bad a situation. I could say your just as horrible of person. Unless you are in the few countries that burn most of their trash for energy you are just part of the problem. In the US our landfills are a disgusting waste of time,  money,  energy,  etc.

Let's not forget whoever is dumping in rivers and oceans. Bunch of bastardy they are.

But dumping on the street which will be picked up because I do not live in the inner city ghetto or the countryside makes me a bad person?

I think you need to rethink the definition of what makes a person a "bad person".

Lazy,  arrogant,  uncaring. Could be better descriptors.

But if any females ask about me make sure you tell them I am bad to the bone. Then I will accept.

Eh, I prefer trash be in a landfill. Better there than floating around a community, around water, etc.

Littering is bad regardless of what kind of community you're in and doing it because you feel someone else will pick it up is kinda being an asshole. If you feel like you're somehow creating jobs, you're arguably just wasting peoples time or city resources. Frankly, a lot of people who pick up trash probably aren't being paid.

Most of us put trash in a trashcan, its not that hard and that's why we're critical of people that litter.

Oh Spurge, you're talking shit to rid you of cognitive dissonance and you know it. With that kind of logic you should go around killing people because it creates jobs for cops and morgues.

Ok, we both have bad habits. Lets leave it at that.

No, littering is trashy.

Believe it or not, especially in rural areas, there aren't people that get paid to pick up your trash. There are volunteer organizations who are so saddened by the amount of trash that ends up on the roads and eventually in our waterways that they give freely of their time to pick up the mess. When I first saw this thread pop up I didn't think it would someone bragging about littering, or even framing it in a context where they think they are performing a civic duty. Even if it were being picked up by a city employee, it wouldn't be like that piece of litter gave that employee a job. It would be more like that piece of litter kept a pot hole from being filled or a sprinkler head from being fixed.

I hope more than anything that you aren't teaching children this specific habit as well as the odd process of justification you're using for it. If nothing else, they may look back on you when they get older and see the ill will you've spread and wonder why.

Good, now I don't have to burn you anymore. *drops cigar on a kerosene trail leading to a white supremacist meeting, then boom*

I very much disagree with the sentiment 'we are all human and have lazy moments.' I mean sure, I have mine when I'm at home, but I clean up after myself before things get too messy.

Whether it's working retail in any position or merchandising or delivering, there is never any time to stand around and goof off or talk. When customers lazily misplace items, think I have time to socialize, or take a very long time paying if I'm at a register(those days are behind me thankfully, and within a reasonable time frame), it puts me behind to be able to go to my next job or class, which causes more unneeded stress.

Your city might or might not have dedicated workers that pick up litter, but whether they are volunteers or not, it doesn't give you any right to dump YOUR trash for someone else to pick up.  They have families or duties to get back to just like anyone else.

Whenever I walk around my neighborhood or park, I pick up litter as I go some days, bringing a plastic bag(that I also hate wasting- paper is better!) and helping out even if a little bit.

Don't be lazy, please. Always strive to do better, whether you're off the clock, on the road(pay attention, use your signal, and don't speed!), or at work. Try to make the world a better place.
