Yeah, I don't get how hard it is to throw together a single player experience.

I've played quite a bit of Forza sim games and in a nut shell its just a random track with some random type of car used. Race, get money/xp, repeat.

Simply offering that is motivation to continue playing.

You're joking right? C'moooon...please say you're joking.

Please elaborate. I played a lot of Forza 4, 5, and 6.

That's essentially what the career modes are. Do races with a certain type of car on usually random tracks, earn money, earn XP, buy cars and upgrades.

That's literally what you do albeit with some pretty flashy menus with some British guy describing the cars.

I got a good laugh out of this. I don't think the studio should get cut, just get rid of kaz and appoint someone who actually gives a damn about the games, rather than touring the world every 2 months and doing that GT academy crap.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

What is his evidence? Did he have research groups, ask current and targeted fans? Play time stats regarding career modes for past games?

If he has the data to back up the decision it can make sense, but blanket statements comes off as an excuse to be lazy

(Formerly RCTjunkie)

That's a stupid reason

Seems like a weird statement to make but in saying that I enjoy racing games and am not into cars in the least so yeah.

Not really "Into cars" in the manner he is speaking of, I'm not a fanatic but I want a single player progression. It's not like it's exactly hard to throw something together, Project cars had one of the most bare bones single player experiences along with DIRT rally but because everything else worked in those games the bare framework just...worked. In fact going to far with the single player is a downside these days like what codemasters ended up doing to dirt 3 and 4 or how Pcars 2 locking off content kinda made it seem cheaper. Just give us a championship for each car class or even just road, GT3 and LMP. The economy is already there, the UI from sport mode could easily be tweaked, it wouldn't take the full team to start working from the ground up. This is what full on perfectionism gets you, Kojima has the same problem.

You can set up any custom race you want and get money/mileage/xp. You have complete freedom to make your own. Of course there's no pat on the back for winning a championship. GT Sport adds the sport mode (next to lobby based multiplayer) as 'campaign', the game is designed to get you to play online after learning how to race. They figured improving your driver and sportmanship rating (next to making money/mileage/xp for cars and extra) is the motivation to continue playing.

This article actually has a very relevant quote
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-21-how-video-game-difficulty-became-a-cultural-battleground
Try to understand what the author wished to do, and do not blame him for not achieving what he did not attempt.
GT Sport is designed to get you to learn the tracks, how to handle different situations and how to pass others safely. Then it wants you to play nice with others. It's doing a good job achieving that so far.

CAN SONY PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET RID OF POLYPHONY DIGITAL. THE CREATOR OF A RACING SIMULATOR GAME JUST SAID PLAYERS AREN'T INTO CARS ANYMORE.

So i know i lol you this quote earlier but I want to say your topic if clickbait.

Players not being that into cars anymore actually has nothing to do with how the campaign mode has changed. This quote from Kaz actually has to do with the more simplified tuning system.

So your source is wrong. And you are too.

Besides, there arent enough cars/ tracks to even make a traditional GT campaign viable. And Kaz has already suggested that more offline content will come. its an evolving model.

Read the above. The article and the OP wildly misunderstood the content of what was being said.

He actually said new gamers are dumb about how cars work deeply, so he made it moreuser friendly, which is likely pretty accurate.
We were talking about this just last week at work, that young people don't care about their cars like people did some years ago, spending weekends messing with it to make it better, and knowing how to fix stuff by learning it that way.
At least here in Brazil, a place that loves cars, is pretty true.

Yea, i've read racing games sales aren't as high as the number of released titles suggests. And despite this they are still made in droves.

Hunting Season is done...

I ride a donkey everywhere I go. I don't care about cars.
