Because apparently some of you guys didn't hear it the first several times.  So I'm just going to randomlly continue to post it.

No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No.

And for the people in the back....NO!

Ask this to any businessman that sells a product and they'll laugh at you and then pity you when you tell them you are serious.

I admit I was a bit surprised to see that article pop up the next day after this thread was made.  Almost like it was in response to it.

You should make more threads so they can write more response articles.

Massimus - "Trump already has democrat support."

If Nintendo had a crystal ball they would have started production 6 months earlier and built up a 5 million stockpile of them back in January. But you never know with the fickle buying public and you can't be stuck with 100 million dollars worth of stock and pay for storing that stock when you don't know the future. Happens to car makers all the time. People accused Chrysler of purposely short stocking PT Cruisers back when they came out and people were waiting 8 months for their order to be built. No business would purposely not try to sell a very popular item while the 'iron is hot'. They just couldn't foresee the demand.

Artificial scarcity is a myth.

Nintendo currently has issues with producing consoles due to component shortages. Will take a while for supply to meet demand.

I think you also mentioned this on Twitter some time ago. But a nice reminder from you nonetheless.

I don't, since Nintendo really wants to sell the Switch, and artificial demand will only hurt them in the long run

Hahaha
I ACTUALLY believe that Nintendo is creating less supply than demand. Does anybody with any economic sense ACTUALLY believe that Nintendo would intentionally sell less than they were able to?

And lost money for the games that the potential buyer didn't get because the system wasn't available. Sure, the buyer can get those games down the road, but by then, the buyer may have acquired the game on a competing console or lost interest in the game entirely. Not to mention the fact that publishers care about early sales of games more than anything. A publisher, Nintendo included, would rather you buy a game at launch than a year later.

I'm not the norm but I just build a small linrary of games before I have a system for a few months. More people should just do that.

You know, I've actually thought about doing that for the Switch. I was close to getting BotW and a few other games even though I don't yet have one, but then I looked at the Excel document I use to keep track of my backlog of games I have purchased and have yet to even see the title screen on. And I thought about how many of them I could have bought years later for much cheaper before even playing them. And as someone who just now got a PS3 about four months ago, I'm buying the crap out of cheap special/ultimate editions and HD compilations left and right. With all that in mind, I canceled my preorder for BotW and decided Nintendo has already made plenty of first-day money off of me over the years. I can wait.
