And other people need to stop taking rumors as fact of 18 million consoles sold, from an analyst that has heard from a "source" that has made an educated guess :).

I agree, too many are using as facts and even extending it to make X1 having sold 23M

What needs to stop is you pulling a 30% number out of your arse to bait people into a flame war.
|
No baiting here. And please learn about hyperbole... 90% attach rate should have tipped you.

So after all the "no one wants or will buy an always online console" backslash, the xbox one now has a 99% online ratio? People need to decide if the Console audience is okay with online, or not... Spins always work both ways ;) Also your claimed 90% digital attach rate is just a bad joke and meme from ps4 fanboys. Same goes with your 30% offline console figure
Keep your consolewar bs out and use reasonable numbers. Like 30-40% digital attachrate (for some games) and 5-10% offline consoles (or at least were not online the last 28 days).... And look. Now you magically can have both. WOWOW
|
Always online very quite =/= than never online, so you are talking something I didn't claim.
90% is bad joke? Nope is a hyperbole, but there were several claims that Halo could even be 60% digital sales, that for me is even more ridiculous. 30% is also a hyperbole. But there are people running with 18M online = 20-23M total so 5M not online on 23M userbase is over 20% and is still ridiculous claim, even more than a hyperbole.
Reasonable numbers are 10-20% (very rare 20% for very selected games) and yes 5% could be reasonable, if we had any hard data to go by it would be great. But since some of the 18M could be shipped your math wouldn't magically work.

With all due respect, you ought to really take a math lesson. A meager 5 percent of consoles offline during the holidays is all it takes for 19.2 million XONEs to look like 18 million. That sounds rather believable since a lot of people weren't home at the time and taking your boxed media center for a ride isn't the smartest thing to do...
And those numbers are for activation, not logins. Just press the metallic LED on the faceplate and you're a number. Also, consoles are, as of November 2015, not shipped with W10.
Your numbers don't add up and are illogical. But perhaps I'd rather remind you that you have used the good old "they'd say it!" card so often that it's old now...

You're now just acting illogically by using an unrelated argument to justify your own... If we use VGChartz numbers, only 5 percent of the consoles were offline. Not that impressive of a number, right?
|
IF we use a number that can be over 20% innacurate? Sure... No I'm not acting illogically, some people make baseless claim to bump their numbers.

100% Online, is Different to have to Log your console as you please, 90% of the World have Crap Internet, i Still Think that Xbox One, sold under 18 Millions, that Xbox One, sold 16-17 Millions.
Explain for me How Someone that had 9-10 Millions of Consoles sold ( in the Beggining of 2015), and that in 1 Quarter Shipped Less than 800 Thousands (From june to September), how He Sold Nearly the same that Playstation 4 ?, Because if was 18 Millions Online, Had 10% Off-line, and 10% Did not Played on the Holidays, so we have 22-23 Millions of Consoles, This means that Xbox One, sold 13-14 Millions ( in 2015), when Playstation 4, sold 17.5 Millions (in 2015) ?, Even with Playstation 4, Having more than 3-4 Times the Shippment Numbers of Xbox One ?, and How Xbox One, Managed to do that if The Only Place that is Possible for Xbox One, to win, he Loses 10 Months in a Year ?, and Also Xbox One, did not out-sold Playstation 4, a Single Week Worldwide, if they had so Close Numbers, in Some Week you would See Xbox One, Out-selling Playstation 4.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
i don't understand any word. please fix your commet first.
but i will correct most of your false statements 1. the xbox one was at nearly 10 million sold in november 2014. where did you get your 9 - 10 m early 2015 from? 2. i said 5-10% offline OR did not played the last 28 days. how can you make 20% of that? 3. the ps4 is at 35,9m sold ltd and 17,4m ytd. how the hell is that anywhere close to 18 - 20 m xbox one ltd and ~8 - 10 m ytd?
|
1. That was "almost shipped" so sold though could be less than 8M on November that is why he uses 9-10M on Jan 15
2. At the rate X1 have been selling, it should have sold no more than 9M this year.

Care to tell me which? I lost track of all the numbers you're throwing out like fecal waste...
And your guess coincidentally adds up to the tally we have...

My thoughts exactly. Anyone else blurting other numbers is pulling them out of the air. Don't downplayer geeks have someone else to annoy?

My Numbers dont Have Logic, Mr.Genius ?, Xbox One, begin the year ith 9-10 Millions Units Sold, Playstation 4, with 18.5 Millions of units sold (Sony, actually give numbers), During the 3 Quarter of the Year near the Black friday, Microsoft, Shipped Only 800 Thousands of Xbox One, and Sony, Shipped more than 3 Millions of Playstation 4, How do you Expect that Microsoft, sold Nearly 22-23 Millions (Yes is this Much, they Said "on December", even if you Activated it Before, and dont play on December this would not count), so Sony, Ship 3.5x More than Microsoft, and only sell 25% More than Microsoft, in the Same Year ?.
the Only Number that we have is that Microsoft, is with Anything Greater than 15.9 Millions, this Can means 16.1 Millions, but we will never Know, even the Woman who give those numbers said that the numbers are not Accurated, wait until March for Microsoft's Financial Reports, they Cannot Hide their sale Numbers Forever, Otherwise they will not Receive Third Party Support Anymore.
|
Your calculations are blowing your numbers out of proportion. Just how the hell do you determine those numbers? Are you aware that the victory of Black Friday wasn't a landslide? and I never claimed more than 20 million Xbox Ones sold...
You do realize it doesn't work that way right? Devs look at their sales numbers. They can't give a rat's ass about console numbers if all their games are selling 3M+
Revise upwards, not downwards. Your empty downplay doesn't scare me...

Yes, We live in a World, that when the Playstation 4, had 15-16 Millions Units Sold, Knack, sold more than 1 Million, while Rise of the Tomb Raider, on Xbox One, Did not even Break the 1 Million Mark Alone.
and Yes, it do Work this Way, if you Dont Know How Much users a Console Have, you dont Know how much you Will Sell, and Tell for me What Kind of Game Sell 3+ Millions on Xbox One ?, here some Examples
Star Wars Battlefront, a Shooter sold less than 2.5 Millions on Xbox One, and More than 5.5 Millions on Playstation 4.
Metal Gear Solid V, the Only 2 Metal Gear Solid Game that were not on a Xbox, were Metal Gear Solid 1, and 4, and the game sold over 2.9 Millions on Playstation 4, and less than 600 Thousands on Xbox One, the Xbox One, is Nearly Behind the Playstation 3's Version Sale Numbers.
Call of Duty, the Multiplataform that Sell the Most on Xbox Plataform, sold 5.23 Millions on Xbox One, and 9.33 Millions on Playstation 4, this is Really sad.
Fallout 4, a Game that Microsoft, Had the Bundle and the Market Deal, and that in Last Generation All Bethesda's Games sold Much more on Xbox, than on Playstation sold 3 Millions on Xbox One, and 5 Millions on Playstation 4.
Fifa 16, the Europe's Biggest Franchise sold 6.4 Millions on Playstation 4, and 2.4 Millions on Xbox One, and the game sold more than 2 Millions on Playstation 3, also Microsoft, had the Market Deal and the Bundles, and sold this less.
Far Cry 4, sold 3.68 Millions on Playstation 4, and 1.45 Millions on Xbox One, also more than 1.2 Millions on Playstation 3, i think that Most of the Xbox Users, dont like a Game with a Good Story-Line, with Shooter Mecanics on it (like Metal Gear).
Assassin's Creed Sindicate, sold more than 2.3 Millions on Playstation 4, and over 1 Million on Xbox One, This is one of the Best Franchises from the France.
There is Not even 1 Game that Xbox One, sold more than Playstation 4, this Shows that the Install Base Is Really Low for the Xbox One, When Playstation 3, had Less Install Base than Xbox 360, still sold more Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Street Fighter, and a Bunch of other Games, this Shows that Even in the Xbox's Biggest Genre that is Shooter, Xbox One, Lose by a Big Margin for the Playstation 4.
Another Examples.
Mad Max, sold 860 Thousands on Playstation 4, and 320 Thousands on Xbox One.
Batman Arkhan Knight, sold 3.23 Millions on Playstation 4, and 1.23 Millions on Xbox One.
The Witcher 3, sold over 3 Millions on Playstation 4, and 1 Million on Xbox One.
Mortal Kombat X, sold 2.14 Millions on Playstation 4, and 1.14 Millions on Xbox One.
Need For Speed (2015) sold 1.66 Millions on Playstation 4, and less than 500 Thousands on Xbox One.
So, if a Game is not a Shooter it sell Much, much, much Worse on Xbox One, than on Playstation 4, and if it is a Shooter, it sell Much less on Xbox One, than Playstation 4, This year there were not a Single game that sold better on Xbox One, and the Install base have nothing to do with it, some Triple A Games, Dont even sold 1 Million on Xbox One.
and Again, what is 10% of 18 Millions and Just the God Knows? , if is 18.7 Millions, 10% of it is over 21 Millions, you are Saying 10% of the Total, not 10% of the Actual Numbers that they Gave, i Dont think that a Console, that you Claim have more than 20 Millions of Units, in a Black Friday, sold so Poor such Anticipated games.
and 1 More Thing if you Claim that were 18 Millions, and 10% Off-line, and the Number is 19 Millions Of Total, 90% of 19 Millions is 17.1 Millions, if you claim 10% so is Atlast 19.9 Millions, And dont Forget that you are Dealing with 2 Public, who Did not Played on Holidays, and Who Did Not Logged on the Internet on the Holidays.
