Yeah I forgot that the Xbox One was cheaper for like 9 months.  Also, it will be interesting to see what the overall gap change is.   The gap grew in 2015.

Actually the gap shrank this year versus last year. Here's how much more the PS4 sold percentage-wise compared to the XBO for the first three quarters of last year and this year, rounded to the nearest 0.1%:

Q1 '14: +30.4%
Q2 '14: +71%
Q3 '14: +59.1%
Overall total: +49.7%

Q1 '15: +31.8%
Q2 '15: +10.9%
Q3 '15: +14.1%
Overall total: +19.1%

I'm pretty sure he is talking about overall, not YOY.  The gap increased this year to back over 1M, while in 2014 MS was able to make a comeback in Q4 and erase a lot of the gap for that year.  I believe it went back to ~600K-700K by the start of 2015.

Oh. He meant the LTD gap? Yeah, by October 2014 the gap in the U.S. had grown to about 1150k, but after the XBO won last holiday the gap shrank to about 750k. The gap is now back over 1.1M.

Here's today's update to the monthly ranks:

PS4 Star Wars basic bundle: #3 (—)
XBO Gears bundle: either #15 (↓1)
PS4 NDC (disc) bundle: #39 (—)
New 3DS XL (black): #41 (—)
XBO 1TB 3-game bundle: #52 (↓1)
Wii U MK8 bundle: #57 (↓1)
PS4 COD bundle: #97 (new entry)

Hey! Look who finally showed up!

The final Week 4 rankings have been added to OP #2. Here's the initial rankings for Week 5:

PS4 COD bundle (standard): #37
PS4 Star Wars bundle: #56
XBO Gears bundle: #69
New 3DS XL (Black): #85

Much lower rankings than the hourlies from Monday suggested. But the PS4 is already at an over two-to-one lead over the XBO as we get the first day's rankings of the final week of the month.

With the PS4s lineup of exclusives I could see the gap increase to around 2.5m.

PS4 will have an easy win in January

Compared to last year
+Price Parity
+More games
+Starting with more momentum

The again Amplitude HD alone is enough to excite me. Hope it's as good as I remember.

I could see the ps4 winning every month next year except maybe march and the summer month that crackdown might launch.

Actually, the gap shrank to about 550k after last holiday season. The XBO won by ~400k last November and ~200K last December.

I can't see anything this year (gah nearly wrote next year...hah) that will shrink the gap, expect to see Sony be aggressive this year as they look to extend their lead.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Time for the new thread.

Happy New Year to you all Amazon freaks!

It will be tough for Microsoft to ever win with price parity, especially now that Halo isn't what it was, they really need to try and make Halo big like it used to be.
