Forums - Gaming Discussion - How do I make gaming fun again?

Just avoid mobile games, I've been sucked again into two of them (Nitro Nation and GT Racing 2) and even if less than others, they're quite crappy, rely too much on obsessive-compulsive mechanisms to push sales of DLCs and/or game currency (I don't buy them, they're not worth the money, but then I have to grind even more than what I already do in many RPGs), my thumbs ache, and they stress me more than they entertain me, if I won't play them less they'll end up making me hate gaming.

Around the Network

I lost it for a few years there, from oh, age 19ish into my early 20's. Got back on the bus last year at age 24. I reckon you should take a break until next gen, skip the 8th gen entirely or look for smaller indie games with high ratings, games that are labeled "atmospheric" or "an experience" might be something you will be able to get into. Gamers are like Alcoholics, We are in constant denial about our massive money sucking addiction and sometimes our brain does a reality check to test the norm, a moment of clarity so to speak, you are experiencing this now and your brain refuses to reward you with chemical goodness until its sure things are okay. I'm just guessing, fuck knows, ya might just be bored.

China Numba wan!!

It happened to me. Then I started making my own games, and I'm having more fun than I ever had playing them.

Perhaps you just need a break from gaming. Of course it will become less fun if you force yourself to do it. Just relax, do something else, and wait for something to happen that will bring you back.

Personally, the only games that I never get tired of are multiplayer games with my friends. Those are pretty much the only games I play nowadays.

I LOVE ICELAND!

After reading more comments from you OP I think you just really need a break. Like I said before, I had a two year break of gaming from around 2010 to 2012 , but I have been playing normally since then.

Yeah I agree. I mean I play an hour a week tops and still feels like a chore most of the time. I think January next year is when my break begins. Need to try Halo 5 first... :)
