1) You are joking right? Put a game with Bioshock quality on Wii and then come say that. As of right now, there is nothing comparable from third parties. Please be fair.

3) Your logic is broken. Metroid does not sell five million copies so now it is not good enough? Let me make sure I got that right. To try to compare the two is crazy. Are you ignoring that fact that a dying genre (platformers) got probably the biggest game ever last year and has sold amazingly well? Thee only thing that stops developers is their own logic. If you want to say, "Hey, our game will never work on Wii." Then do not be surprised if you end up with a product that not only would not work on Wii, but on any console, really.

4) Nintendo are the best developer on the planet. Can you name a company that makes a better racer? I think Mario Kart (and even moreso F-Zero) is the best out there? Besides, to keep this point short, the best you would come up with is a few different companies for the different genres you listed. Nintendo develop/publish some of the most quality sports titles, racing titles, platform titles, fps titles, strat/tactics titles and the best fighting game on the planet. No single other developer has the quality of Nintendo. And that is what makes them the best.

 

And for the love of Ghaude, before anyone else post some stupid shit like this, can they please not forget the DS exists. It makes life so much easier when people stop and look at the success of DS and then look at Wii in the same light. Nintendo made DS and Wii successful on their own. Who, other than the best, could make that happen?

Yes Hus, you really need to learn how to write in understandable way. The above didn't make much sense. If i look at Twilight Princess sales and say that it will attract 3rd parties to develope CoD4 like games for Wii. I mean, Corruption and TP are both offline adventure games and CoD4 is online shooter. In most of those genres Nintendo is one of the top publishers in the world and there are more genres than the ones you mentioned.

I love two things in this thread, first one is the humor and the spin of the thread and the title, and the other is kids talking like that. Tell me, how many non-Nintendo published games this gen has, that are targeted to mature audience, besides Carnival Games, and even that is a Wii game. Nintendo has Wii Sports, Wii Play, BBA, Wii Fit and even SMG tries to reach the mature people. Then there's Virtual console for the older gamers etc. And what does competition have for us?

Take a look at those Zelda TP sales! At one time people around here thought it would have a hard time hitting 3 million sold.  Now it looks like it'll easily hit 5 million and maybe even 6 million sold with the legs it's been showing.

 You realise Nintendo chooses not to make things like FPS and TPS all the time.

Racer- Wave Race and F-Zero and damn fine examples of them.
F1WGP2 is by far the best F1 game on a nintendo console, and better than the few I have played on PS machines... however Sony have bought the F1 licence so it is a tad difficult for Nintendo to make another.

Arcade racer - Mario Kart, need I say more. (I suppose you could argue F-zero was arcade too)

online isn't a genre.

RPG - I don't know much about them but I believe Fire Emblem is one right? and is very critically acclaimed... I'm sure other posters could name other RPG (is Animal Crossing one?)

music game - It's not like there are many of these made by other developers. (erm, Guitar Hero, DDR and now RockBand)

strategy- Advance Wars? Pikmin? (and Battalion Wars)

mmo - I don't really know much about these either, but I don't think they are very prolific on consoles.

action - I have always been hazy about what an action game actually is, is Zelda an Action game?

Hell you can do the rest yourself however I will fill out a few more lists for you.
For RPG I shall add Pokemon, Paper Mario, Mother and Golden Sun.
For FPS Nintedo did publish some, like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, but I suppose Rare was second party at the time.
For shooter there are lots of good games, but I suppose very few are specifically 3rd person bar Sin and Punishment, and star fox assault.

I think you will find Nintendo has made a lot of excellent games spanning the vast majority of genres you might want to mention, games that are often considered to be within the best, if not the best of their respective genres.... That is why they are considered the best of the developers.
