Was about to ask: Why stop at 2014?
Then I see the thread is from 2015, lol.

Okay, I updated the pictures in the OT to avoid confusion.

Here's hoping next year brings some decent PC games to turn that trend around big time. Would love to see more 90/85%+ scores.

Bravo. That is excellent work.

I think 90+ games might drop for the PS4 and XBO.

Do these graphs include PSNow and Win10 Store for PC?

Do PSNow and Win10Store have separate sections at MetaCritic?

There are no "PSNow"-versions of games. The PS2-versions available via PS Now are in the PS2 numbers (of course counted to the year they were released on PS2 hardware and got their reviews). The PS3-versions available via PS Now are in the PS3 numbers (of course counted to the year they were released on PS3 hardware and got their reviews). The PS4-versions available via PS Now are in the PS4 numbers (of course counted to the year they were released on PS4 hardware and got their reviews).

The Win10Store games are PC games, plain and simple. They are in the PC numbers (of course counted to the year they were released on PC hardware and got their reviews).

My thoughts:

Switch had another great year of quality games, over thirty 85+ games and almost hundred 80+ games... but this year we want more 90+ games! It's time for the next wave of big Nintendo games like Breath of the Wild 2, Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3.

PC had the most 90+ and 80+ games, software output seems very stable... lots of good new games. And with the PC GamePass you can play many of them Day One for a very small fee, no need to wait for the next Steam Sale.

PS4 and XBO are on par... both had minor declines, but that was expected, since a lot of development time of first and third parties will go into launch games for PS5/XSX.

New quality iOS/Android games are getting very rare (from almost 200 games with 80+ in 2011/2012 to 45 games in 2018 to 11 games in 2019). Most Indie developers of high quality games seem to have found the Switch as a much more profitable platform "on the go"... or most reviewers don't care about reviewing quality mobile games anymore.

Oh, and Happy New Year to all of you!

    307 XB1 games with a metascore of 80+, and 438 PS4 games with a metascore of 80+

This really shows just how superior Playstation is over Xbox.

Also keep in mind that there are a lot of games out there with only 4 to 8 reviews, on PC and Xbox that I wouldn't personally count. So in reality Xbox suffers even more than this graph shows, and PC/PS4 are pretty much neck and neck.
