Quarantine is killing me more than Coronavirus, so I fast forward time by watching more anime.

Sword Art Online Alicization War of the Underworld Part 1: I tricked myself into watching this before part 2 came out. Without much of the MC, we get to see other characters shine, but the other characters are just as much Overpowered. Like the wholesale slaughter is basically Overlord on steroids. Not much really happened and is probably my lowest rated "part", hopefully part 2 is better. I couldn't find the OP or ED to remind me so I will just say they are meh.

The Rising of the Shield Hero (25 episodes)- This show had a lot of potential. The first 10 episodes or so were really good, and it felt great when he accomplished things with great difficulty involved. Unfortunately after a bit, he becomes too overpowered. Not only that, ridiculous things happen that make zero sense. I think this show is only rated high because people voted before watching the whole thing, but at least reading forums and threads, it is clear that this show was actually rated even higher and steadily dropped due to just how bad it became. At least the meta story doesn't sound too bad, so I will still want to watch a season 2 to find out what happens. OP1 and OP2 were okay. ED1 good, ED2 okay.

High School DxD Hero- Was saving this show for a rainy day. Still got some good laughs out of the sheer ridiculousness of it, but not quite as many as previous seasons. The pace seemed a bit fast , but maybe it is just my watching speed that is fast. I am most surprised that he didn't get to see his predecessor naked or need a horny boost near the end. Oh well, the harem is still alive and well! I hope this anime continues to do well, because quite frankly there has been a distinct lack of ecchi anime lately. OP and ED meh.

Wow. Next season is so incredibly empty. There is Fire Force, trash and lots of porn. Good for my tortured backlog I guess.

I thought Haikyuu getting delayed from Summer was annoying now Ikebukuro West Gate Park is the latest show to get postponed outta Summer. Next season already has a ton of stuff postponed there's not alot left worth caring for. Deca-Dence, Uzaki-Chan and SNAFU 3 are the ones to watch then you have some bottom teir shows like No Guns Life 2, Fire Force 2, Re-Zero 2. But who knows what else is gonna get postponed.

Ride The Chariot

Well this seasons pretty much over and looking at it, it was pretty great, 9 shows and 1 film with zero drops.

  1. Fruits Baskets Season 2 is my anime of the season and continues to have the best soundtrack.
  2. Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 was phenomenal as always and continues to be one of the best rom-com/comedy. Season 2 proved that Hayasaka is best girl.
  3. A Whisker Away was a chill film from my favourite director Junichi Sato.
  4. Sing "Yesterday" For Me was the biggest let-down this season, a show that spends 11 episodes pushing two characters together only for the last episode to basically go "naaaaaaa" .... cmon.
  5. Princess Connect! Re:Drive shows what can happen if you take Konosuba and drain it of the comedy and add a bunch of food and some terrible CGI. Still pretty great tho.
  6. Brand New Animal Trigger cant even save themselves let alone anime, but the character designs and animation where nice.
  7. Kakushigoto saves anime this season and wins an award for father of the year.
  8. Tower of God was nothing amazing but did have possibly the best ED/OP
  9. Appare-Ranman! P.A Works ever loving dart board of will it be a good or bad original continues and .... its pretty damn average (was delayed after EP3)
  10. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater Was delayed after episode 3 but continues to show why Dogo Kobo are the undisputed queens of the Comedy, SoL, School categories

Ride The Chariot

The Cyberpunk 2077 anime will be directed by Imaishi. That means at least someone at CD Project has taste.

Time passes and I am unable to do the things I want outside, so I am forced to stay inside and instead do the things I want inside. That means 3 more anime watched, bringing the total to 6 in June. I think that only makes up for March, so I am still on track for 3 per month.

Yakusoku no Neverland- This show has great worldbuilding that makes me interested to see more. I am quite intrigued with what actually happened. The main 3 are all quite interesting. I think with such perfectness, the leaders should have been able to deduce that something like this would happen. The ending was quite the cliffhanger but it is definitely an acceptable stopping point. meh OP ED

Domestic Na Kanojo- I expected this show to go a lot worse based on the opening scene and the MCs main goal. But surprisingly this show was fun for awhile. Of course if there is a sequel then the creators have plenty of time to ruin the show with a love triangle. The drama for drama's sake was annoying, but completely expected of a romance anime. I was hoping that not every single episode would be stressful, but the creators must do something it seems. I also expected nudity, but apparently I didn't watch the uncensored version, oh well. Good OP, but I got tired of it.

Kimetsu no Yaiba (26 episodes)- Finally I watched the hype show. I love swordplay in anime. I like powering up and stuff. Even with all of that, this show is merely good and not great. There were good moments and bad moments. One episode in particular was so hype, I had to watch it twice, something I rarely do. But then the very next episode completely ruins it. I felt better about the other hyped shows like My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan, so I am sad this one didn't quite do as well. Regardless there seems to be a lot more content left despite the manga ending, so I will enjoy the future movies/seasons.

I already have my next 4 anime lined up, but I will only talk about 3 of them. At some point I am going to have to finish Fairy Tail as well... 51 more episodes.

Lapis Re:Lights sure is something. It's Love Live meets Little Witch Akademia meets Yuru Yuri. It's not as good as either of them but it definitely does try hard. It has above average animation and design and you can feel that the people making it care a lot. It's certainly better than it has any right to be.

It has all of the tropes and stock characters with witches, idols and overt yuri, what else does anyone really need?

Lapis Re:Lights is just great. It's this season's Princess Connect or Boufuri. So many feelgood vibes and genuine slapstick comedy that makes you smile.

Deca-Dence certainly has promise with that director.

Fire Force is just as good as always with a potentially great addition to the cast.

The first episdoe of Kanojo, okarishimasu is surprisingly not terrible with two relatable leads.

With Re: Zero and another Monster Musume it's quite a solid season.
