No Xbox is of a minor importance. However devices and cloud services are of MASSIVE importance and selling Xbox to the largest competitor who bases their business on open stack and droid devices would be an unmitigated disaster for MS's devices, Azure services and for the OS division.

disagree, it would only be better they sell it if they were selling to someone that isn't currently a major competitor in those spaces, otherwise it would be far better to shutter it. The entire Xbox division is tiny financially to MS, but the cost of their competitors having it can be huge. regardless they have no need to sell it, it is currently a very successfull business, even if it is only a tiny portion of there overall business, it also allows them to leverage into other devices.
