Intel Publishes Arc A770M & A730M High-End Alchemist GPU Benchmarks: Slightly Faster Than RTX 3060 & RTX 3050 Ti But at Higher Power Draw

https://wccftech.com/intel-arc-a770m-arc-a730m-gpu-official-benchmarks-faster-than-nvidia-rtx-3060-3050-ti-higher-power-draw/

How the fuck did they fuck this up this badly? High end Arc. The A770M barely beats a 3060 Max-Q??? While drawing almost double the power?? Like wtf???

Only Raja can fuck this up this badly

I'm hoping they will focus most of their efforts on ideas they've mentioned in the article and not waste time and money chasing AAA wrapping and parlor tricks - A/AA level of production is more than enough for such game to have great success if they manage to pull off what they've set to achieve (AI Game Master alone is dream come true).

With all due respect, I doubt they have the budget to make it an AAA game, so yeah, their best bet is to focus on the gameplay and try to make it look good enough.

Oh, I didn't think for a second thay it will be AAA game, they obviosuly don't have that budget - what I've meant is that I'm hoping that budget they do have will go toward developing and implementing those great ideas they've talked about and not trying to make it appear like AAA game (which, let's face it, is not that uncommon). Think of From Software as an example of a good practice - their games still have stiff animation and nowhere near as advanced (technically speaking) visuals as AAA games cause their budget goes into more imortant stuff.

Japanese man loses USB stick with entire city's personal details

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-61921222

"A Japanese worker lost a USB stick containing the data of 460,000 people during a night out.

He had transferred the personal information of the entire city's residents onto the drive on Tuesday evening before meeting colleagues for a night on the town.

City officials said the memory stick included the names, birth dates, and addresses of all the city's residents. It also included more sensitive information, including tax details, bank account numbers and information on families receiving social security.

Luckily for the man, city officials said the data contained on the drive is encrypted and locked with a password."

Not going to affect me (or my PC/PSU) too much, since I'm only in the market for 7 series cards but growing power consumption sucks. Not looking forward to putting 300W+ GPU's in my system.

If it weren't for the fact that we have chill temps 3/4 seasons, I probably wouldn't be tempting 450 watt 4090. But I get the feeling that 450 Watt will be FE and the Asus Strix 4090 which is likely the one I will get will be more like 600 watt.

Gonna be brutal but based on the rumours, the 80 series might not give me the uplift that I am looking for compared to the 4090.
