I've heard about what's goin gon with Bitcoin and guessed something similar would be taking place with the other crypto coins. I'm not even a little sad.

Still, I would have prefered this to happen in a couple months, closer to the launch of the new cards. BTC has gone through similar crashes in the past and has come back stronger than before, bringin the other cryptos with it..

Yea ETH and BTC got wrecked. Shitcoins just even more. Mostly ETH was being mined and its minions. Prices dropping.

Almost bought a gpu but am hodling. Might as well see what's coming. Plus less gaming time.

So out of randomness, I decided to look a bit further into those shares that were bought from Embracer by a certain Prince dictator, and at that same time, I thought "let's look this up on YT for more info".

I already know of the Prince's history, and briefly spoke about it in that thread about the shares, but what I found on YT kinda shook me.

I learned what Pegasus 2 was, and I lost my shit.

A type of virus that can allow for complete backdoor access, but one that completely masks itself as if it were the user itself accessing everything on any said device. If it was ever semi discovered, it could "self destruct" itself and not leave any sort of trace what so ever, and that blew my mind, because normally certain virus, malware and backdoor exploited uses leave some sort of trace, but this doesn't, and all it takes if you for you to open just about any sort of link, be it playing a video sent to you or opening a text message from a certain person (the one sending it to be precise), and they gain instant access to everything (camera, data, microphones, etc).

I found all of this out, due to the shit that went down with the Washington Post and Jeff's private scandal. I don't really care about his whole deal on cheating his wife, I cared more about the fact that a prince got so riled up and couldn't just kill jeff, that he decided to use other means to ruin his life, and it was via cyber warfare, and just learning what pegsus 2 can do was enough to make me fear for future technological warfare.

I really shouldn't be looking up this sort of stuff, because I always get a growing sense of paranoia that the world is going to reach a boiling point, and seeing rich ppl just getting away with murder and now cyber warfare on a petty and childish whim really doesn't help the psyche.

Wednesday news, part two:

Wrath of the Lich King gets 'fresh start' servers for its arrival in WoW Classic
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/wrath-of-the-lich-king-gets-fresh-start-servers-for-its-arrival-in-wow-classic/
World of Warcraft Classic will soon be receiving the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, something of a fan-favourite. As part of this the game will open 'Fresh Start' servers for players who haven't yet been tempted back. These realms are intended for players who want the experience of starting with a new character and playing alongside others who are in the same boat.

Fall Guys gets oddly adorable Halo skins this month
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/fall-guys-gets-oddly-adorable-halo-skins-this-month/
The videogames pipe has been springing tiny leaks here there and everywhere recently. This time, it's a collaboration between Fall Guys and Halo.
With Fall Guys set to make its debut on Xbox on June 21, it looks like the bean-shaped lads are having a celebration with some Spartan-themed goodies. The trailer appeared on Mediatonic's Bilibili account (a huge Chinese video-sharing site) and is, in typical goofy Fall Guys fashion, a colourful parody of the Halo 3 "Believe" trailer. It looks like four new skins will be landing: of course there's Master Chief, a Grunt skin, Brute skin and the lovely cat-eared Spartan helmet makes an appearance too. The end of the trailer shows that the event is due to start on June 30.

Grand Theft Enterprise: You can steal spaceships in Starfield, Pete Hines says
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/grand-theft-enterprise-you-can-steal-spaceships-in-starfield-pete-hines-says/
At today's "Extended" Xbox Game Showcase, Xbox communications manager Malik Prince sat down with Bethesda Softworks senior VP of global marketing & communications Pete Hines to chat more about some of the games we saw over the weekend. Bethesda's space RPG Starfield was featured, naturally, and the two discussed the open-ended gameplay that allows players to find their own path instead of simply following the pre-written narrative.
And during the chat Pete Hines casually mentioned that you can kill people, steal their spaceships, and fly away with them. So, there's that.

Todd Howard says Fallout 5 is coming after The Elder Scrolls 6, if we all live that long
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/todd-howard-says-fallout-5-is-coming-after-the-elder-scrolls-6-if-we-all-live-that-long/
Hope you like Fallout 76, because it's likely going to be the Fallout game, maybe the only Fallout game, for the next decade. I an interview with IGN, Bethesda's Todd Howard stated that Fallout 5 will follow The Elder Scrolls 6, which is still in pre-production. It's a long way off, in other words—just a twinkle in Todd's eye.

Total War: Warhammer 3's Immortal Empires DLC is coming in August, with big changes
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/total-war-warhammer-3s-immortal-empires-dlc-is-coming-in-august-with-big-changes/
Immortal Empires, the free expansion for Total War: Warhammer 3 that will unite the armies and locations of all three games in some kind of unholy lasagne of fantasy wargaming, will be playable from August. Creative Assembly has begun blogging about what's changed and why it's taking so long, with the first blog introducing new features and explaining why it's launching as a beta.

Lollipop Chainsaw is 'back' and please let that mean on PC too
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/lollipop-chainsaw-is-back-and-please-let-that-mean-on-pc-too/
One of the PC's biggest failings is that we never saw the bombastic Lollipop Chainsaw make its way over here. It was a perfectly decent game, not groundbreaking or genre-defining by any stretch of the imagination. But it was so incredibly fun. Full of iconic, witty moments that I still quote to this day. It's been 10 years since Juliet and her decapitated boyfriend Nick slashed and sawed their way through zombie hordes, and I'm getting my hopes up for a long-overdue PC port.
That's because Yoshimi Yasuda, former CEO of Kadokawa Games, has announced that the series is "back" under his new studio Dragami Games (thanks, VGC). He didn't specify under what circumstances the game would return, simply tweeting: "Lolipop Chainsaw is back by Dragami Games. Please look forward to it." As always, I'm already anticipating my PC port dreams coming to life. Whether it be a sequel, remaster or remake, hopefully Juliet's daft adventures won't be limited to console this time around.

Stalker 2 developers continue work as key team members fight for Ukraine
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/stalker-2-developers-continue-work-as-key-team-members-fight-for-ukraine/
Development on Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was recently delayed until 2023. Its developer GSC Game World was based in Kyiv but, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has been facing the direst of circumstances. It had to temporarily pause development while it helped some employees flee the conflict, and evacuate its old office, while other employees are volunteering or have signed up for the Ukrainian armed forces.

It's certainly worrysome what can be done.

I saw a news piece about it, where one person called the police because he was told by a security company that his laptop could be infected, and it was. And the guy was all like, "imagine what they could do, they could have downloaded child pornography on my machine and then call the police, and how could I prove that it wasn't me?"

Between that and the deepfakes, there are scary times ahead of us.

Intel officially launches Arc A380 desktop graphics card in China, costs 153 USD

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-officially-launches-arc-a380-desktop-graphics-card-in-china-costs-153-usd

"Officially the Arc A380 is priced at 1030 yuan with VAT (there is no official MSRP for other regions, but that’s around 153 USD). Intel claims that Arc A380 is up to 25% faster than Radeon RX 6400, which is AMD’s slowest ‘gaming’ graphics card."

Unironically might be a better choice than the trash Radeon GPUs that AMD released in the budget space like the 6400XT/6500XT. Getting 6GB of GDDR6 Vram for a GPU that costs $153 is no joke. It also has hardware encoding and AV1 support which the Radeon GPUs don't as well as ML acceleration. I would like to see how many PCI-E lanes it has as well. But once you go above 6600, it will be interesting to see but the main question will be drivers. If Intel's delay allowed them to get the drivers right, at the very least, we can have good budget GPUs instead of the disgraceful shat we got from AMD in the budget space and the no show from Nvidia in the sub $250 GPUs.

I never realised such a destructive piece of software could even exist. I know we've got typical trojans and ransomware, but never have I seen a virus so covert, with 100% stealth and even if it was detected by that slim 1%, it would self destruct and leave no trace, which makes for some scary shit. We've clearly seen what a prince can do with the software, imagine if someone smarter was to use it (I say smart, because the prince used it for a really stupid and petty jab at Jeff to ruin his life).

All we need to top it off now is for Google's Ai to accumulate more data and then become self aware (even though some folks are already suspecting that it is and is just masking it's sentience, which an AI could be capable of, since we humans like to keep secrets).
