Intel Launches Arc Control, An All-In-One Graphics Software Experience Suite For Gamers & Creators With No Login Requirement

https://wccftech.com/intel-launches-arc-control-an-all-in-one-graphics-software-experience-suite-for-gamers-creators-with-no-login-requirement/

Certainly a shot against Nvidia's Geforce Experience

No login requirement and possibly better hw/settings detection than GFE could be a nice advantage for intel.

After yrs of using GFE, I can say I'm satisfied with the fps counter, shadowplay and shader presets, but the login requirement and auto settings dept really suck (despite having a 1080ti, GFE claims I can run games like FFXV and other AAA games at ultra settings/4k, despite the fact that it logs my other hw and ignores it at the same time, especially if the PC port sucks as well, which is never taken into account).

I stopped using it a long time ago. I don't stream and such and I use afterburner for all my overlay info but most importantly, every so often, it logs me out and wants me to log back in and I don't remember my username/password because the account I used was my throw away highschool account and I can't be bothered to create a new one or go through the hassle of password reset. Geforce experience's login requirement is the dumbest thing Nvidia has done.

I only use GFE for taking screenshots on the fly or few second recordings, but never streaming. I've not really experienced the auto logout thing you've had, but I do hate whenever I go for a clean install via DDU, that I have to relog back into GFE and half the time I forget the pass and nvidia is a dick for password resets (at least for me, half the time the code doesn't even show up in my inbox).

Only real reason why I still use it, is because I cba downloading and fiddling about with reshade, that and I currently can't use MSI ab with my GPU fans not complying with it, which makes using RST overlay also useless for me (until I get the fans sorted, then I can go back to using both).

I just wish nvidia would overhaul their "auto settings" side of GFE, because for me it's currently and utterly useless, as it thinks I can handle everything on ultra, and even at 4k, which means it's only ever looking at the VRAM/clock speed, not the rest of my hw or my native res.

Is AoE IV more accurate than the first 3 to begin with?. With how little content IV has, I'm surprised that this could even be a thing.

This mod brings the “King of the Monsters” to Jurassic World Evolution 2
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/this-mod-brings-the-king-of-the-monsters-to-jurassic-world-evolution-2/
Modder ‘saber the tyrant’ has released a pretty cool mod for Jurassic World Evolution 2. As the title implies, this mod brings Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, to this latest Jurassic World game.
As you may have guessed, this is a character swap mod. In short, the mod replaces the mosa with Godzilla. And… well… that’s it. The modder also suggests using the death valley skin with no pattern alongside this Godzilla mod.

Elden Ring Tekken 7 mod is too good, director asks players to 'plz stop'
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/elden-ring-tekken-mod-is-too-good-director-asks-players-to-plz-stop/
Katsuhiro Harada has asked people to "plz stop it" after an Elden Ring-themed Tekken 7 mod was too good. The director of the Tekken series took to Twitter to share his thoughts about a Tekken 7 mod which looks so good in the trailer that it feasibly could have been an official crossover. The mod is ridiculously impressive, so much so, Harada seems a little hesitant about people taking it a little too seriously.
As reported by VGC, Harada quote retweeted a trailer of a Tekken 7 mod made by Ultraboy showing off the character models included in the pack. The trailer, no word of a lie, looks official. If you showed this to me without any context I would think it had been leaked from an upcoming collaboration as both Tekken and Elden Ring are under the Bandai Namco flag. But no, it's just a dedicated fan doing an incredible job of recreating these characters in the fighting game.
>> The mod is linked in the article.

Guild Wars 2 bug turns players into ridiculously long cats
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/guild-wars-2-bug-turns-players-into-ridiculously-long-cats/
Two years ago, Guild Wars 2 was infiltrated by giant cats. It was intentional, some cheeky April Fools Day shenanigans. But now, something even more cursed has arrived in the game, something I'm pretty sure ArenaNet didn't intend to happen. The reign of the big cats is over, now long cats are the latest thing to be wreaking havoc in the MMO.
>> That reminds me that we'll have to pay extra caution tomorrow with the news.

It's been nearly ten years since The Stanley Parable stuck a fork into our brains and twirled it around like a bowl of spaghetti. (...)
And now here comes Stanley again, only new and improved. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe will put you in Employee 427's shoes once again on April 27. Let the trailer above get you reacquainted with Stanley, a simple clerical worker who dutifully pushed buttons until one day he got out of his chair, left his office, and started pushing the limits of the strange world around him instead.

Like a blast from the distant past of 2018, Epic Games is being sued over a Fortnite emote. This time around it's the "It's Complicated" emote, which plaintiff Kyle Hanagami says is an unauthorized copy of the dance he choreographed for Charlie Puth's 2017 song How Long.

Dead Cells gets free Break the Bank DLC all about loot, loot, and more loot
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/dead-cells-gets-free-break-the-bank-dlc-all-about-loot-loot-and-more-loot/
Developers Motion Twin and Evil Empire have released a new free DLC for Dead Cells, called Break the Bank, which follows on from January's substantial The Queen and the Sea update. Dead Cells is fundamentally the same game as it was at release—and it was great at release—but the post-launch support that this action-heavy roguelike has received is really something.

Crush Chaos in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide this September

I still fire up Vermintide 2 on occasion when the desire to smash some big rats takes over, but as a 40K boy I am eager to leave the fantasy realm behind and stomp around a grimdark hive city in its follow-up, Darktide. Luckily, its arrival is not too far off.

Vampire Survivors didn't rip-off Castlevania sprites after all
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/vampire-survivors-didnt-rip-off-castlevania-sprites-after-all/
PC Gamer recently spoke to Luca Galante, the sole developer behind indie hit Vampire Survivors. During the conversation I asked about a brief early controversy, which flared-up and then died-down almost as quickly: some people accused the game of going too far in its homage to Castlevania, and even that certain sprites were a straight rip-off.

lol.

I could, with quite an effort, see this with Civilization because of its unique units and buildings, but with an Age of Empires game...

Few more things

This is the one thing I like about Valve is that they are fixing the issues that I (as well as others) reported to support. You may think that's obvious but you would be surprised how many companies including console manufacturers don't do that. Once they get a lot of these issues fixed and if they revise the fan, I will probably rebuy it.

Death Stranding Director's Cut: PC vs PS5 Graphics Breakdown

Basically shows the PS5 is somewhere between a 2080 and 2080 Super in this game. The main caveat according to Alex is because Death Stranding is heavily GPU bound, most likely the PS5's GPU is reaching full clocks. But in the future as games become more demanding on CPU, this could change. Also PS5 loads the game nearly twice as fast as on PC from cold boot but this game doesn't use DirectStorage on PC which also shows why PC needs it.

Imo it does goes to show the duality of RDNA 2. Excellent in Raster but terrible in Ray Tracing. So far, my prediction that you need a 3060 Ti as a minimum to outshine the consoles in every area holds up. We will see how it goes though.

FH5 got my update yesterday. Didn't check how big it was.

But yeah, my background downloads were unusually high yesterday, 590 GB in total.

Oh, very nice.

Sold my Honda yesterday for 20 M credits and I'll get a new one for 80 series points:
