GPU accelerated RAID calculations for storage is here

Luckily you only need potato GPUs for right now but if this tech ever increases in popularity, well add another form of technology that will increase GPU shortages in the future. This is not for consumers for now but maybe in the future.

Well, with AMD in the future also including GPUs in all their CPUs and how strongly the integrated GPUs have evolved, I think it's safe to say that it could be handled by the iGPU/APU going forward. I mean, the T1000 workstation GPU used is functionally just an MX450 for laptops, and the AMD 6000 series already beat that and Intel's Iris iGPUs are not far behind.

Of course, if you buy a CPU with its iGPU deactivated...

Edit: On Servers, they could use one chiplet for a GPU specifically for this (and the occasional video output if needed to monitor on a screen). Imagine a server with 10 CPU chiplets and 2 GPU chiplets, that should easily do the trick.

Humble's Stand With Ukraine bundle raises $26M in just one week
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/humbles-stand-with-ukraine-bundle-raises-dollar26m-in-just-one-week/
The Humble stand With Ukraine Bundle came out strong when it launched last week, raising more than $2 million in just a single day. And it managed to maintain that momentum all the way to the end: Humble revealed earlier today that it raised more than $20 million for humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine.
It's a whopping big number, but it's also something of an understatement. According to the Stand With Ukraine bundle page, more than 473,900 bundles were sold, raising a grand total of $25,974,341, 100% of which will be divided between Razom for Ukraine, International Rescue Committee, International Medical Corps, and Direct Relief. Sales of the bundle ended on March 25.

Steam has several new deals, including new weeklong deals:

The Humble Store has three new sales:

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-second-unofficial-pc-port-of-the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-is-available-for-download/
Earlier this month, we informed you about the release of the first unofficial PC port of The Legend of Zelda, Open Ocarina. However, that wasn’t the only PC port that was under development. Ship of Harkinian is another unofficial port and last week, its development team released its first public version.
Ship of Harkinian is a PC port of OoT allowing you to enjoy the game with modern controls, widescreen, high-resolution, gyroscopy and other great features.
This first version lacks a number of features, such as support for high framerates. Still, PC gamers can now enjoy the game in widescreen, which is cool.

Do note that this fan game is in a very early development stage. Still, the following videos will give you an idea of what you can expect from it (visually).

Terraform a planet in this survival game that looks like Subnautica on Mars

(...)
The Planet Crafter, now in Steam Early Access, drops you on a barren, arid world that looks a lot like Mars, and your job is not to merely survive but ultimately to make the planet habitable for other humans. As you explore and collect minerals and other resources, and keep yourself fed and oxygenated, you'll craft tools and gear, build a base, and fabricate machines and modules that can begin warming up the planet. Eventually you'll be able to create a breathable atmosphere and bring life to the world in the form of trees, plants, lakes, and even wildlife. You may start off growing crops in hydroponic tubes inside your base, but the end goal is to be able to farm them outside under a bright blue sky.

Bungie slams YouTube for DMCA 'security loophole' and lousy customer service
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/bungie-slams-youtube-for-dmca-security-loophole-and-lousy-customer-service/
Bungie has launched a lawsuit against the perpetrators of last week's "fraudulent" Destiny 2 video takedowns, saying that the removal of community-created videos caused the studio "significant reputational and economic damage." The suit is also highly critical of YouTube's "easily gamed reporting system," which it cites as the primary reason that the attack on Destiny 2 content creators was successful in the first place.

The Forest sequel delayed until October
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/the-forest-sequel-delayed-until-october/
Announced back in 2019, Sons of the Forest is a sequel to the terrifying open world survival game The Forest, which is still my pick for the grossest and most discomforting tree punching sim out there. Studio Endnight Games still hasn't released many details on the sequel, though based on early gameplay footage it's looking like a more narrative-driven affair than its predecessor, which itself was a more narrative-driven affair than most survival games.
Exactly what Sons of the Forest will be may be unknown, but we do know the game has been delayed. Initially set for a May 2022 release, it'll now hit Steam some time in October 2022.

These 3090 Tis and Hopper bode ill for the 4000 series in terms of power consumption. And talk about missing the Zeitgeist.

Overall it just feels like a waste of sand. Like I know this is for those that want the best GPU that money can buy but buying a 3090 2 years ago made sense because you had 2 years of dominance. Buying a 3090 Ti now feels like a waste of money because in about 6 months, you will get rekt by a 4070 for a quarter of the price and probably half the power. Granted you won't get the 24GB of Vram with a 4070 but a 4090 will probably have same if not more with 40-50% performance uplift at least.

Least we get to see the types of PSUs we will need for top end Lovelace though loll. If RDNA 3 can catch up to Nvidia in Ray Tracing with less power, then I might consider buying AMD but if RDNA 3 performs similar to RDNA 2 vs Ampere in Ray Tracing, then hopefully my 1000 watt power supply can handheld the 4080/4090 loll.
