Darn lol, yeah I think a lot of us expected things to get a bit better for prices and availability this far in the year, but alas.. still very much the same. In current market you're have to be lucky or spend a significant amount of time in trying to get a GPU at MSRP/RRP. Demand is still heavily outweighing supply so the pricing situation won't likely change anytime soon because people are spending their money on overpriced GPU's from AiB's - them being miners, scalpers or people who have money to burn.

Best sign up to a couple stock checkers if you're desperate for a GPU.

I think I can "endure" with an RX 430 for the time being, I'm mostly just playing StarCraft 2 and Overwatch at the moment, so it handles that just fine.

Also recently gotten back into Sins of a Solar Empire... And the Ryzen 5900X doesn't suffer from any slow-down during the late game. #winning.

Wonder Woman is coming to Fortnite
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/wonder-woman-fortnite/
We officially have 5/7ths of a full Justice League in Fortnite. DC Comics' Wonder Woman is coming soon in Fortnite as a new skin, plus a big bundle of cosmetic items to boot. The Amazon warrior goddess now joins Superman, Batman, the Flash, and Aquaman. All we need now is Cyborg and Green Lantern for some truly ridiculous 50 vs 50 matches.

Not Tonight 2 leaves Brexit behind for racism and greed in the US
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/not-tonight-2/
The original Not Tonight, released in 2018, drew a pretty grim pixel art picture of the European world, making for a distinctly anti-Brexit exploration of systemic racism. Now publisher No More Robots and developer Panic Barn are squaring their sights on American shores with Not Tonight 2.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 comes to Steam Early Access in October
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/lovecrafts-untold-stories-2-comes-to-steam-early-access-in-october/
Lovecraft's Untold Stories, not to be confused with No Code's Stories Untold, is an action roguelite with a side order of RPG mechanics that takes place in various Cthulhu-flavored locales such as abandoned hospitals and old Victorian mansions. (...)
That's good enough to warrant a sequel, Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2, which will feature similar gameplay with a more advanced visual style, six different playable characters, and co-op multiplayer for up to four people. Players will also be able to craft their own equipment, including weapons, clothing, and consumables, using blueprints and resources found throughout the game.

New Valheim video outlines upcoming changes to blocking and staggering

Iron Gate Studios, developer of Valheim, is currently in drip-feed mode when it comes to sharing information on the Hearth and Home update that's scheduled to arrive sometime in the coming months. That's not really a bad thing—the studio has been sharing videos about some of the changes on the way, and so far they've been pretty interesting, if brief.

Outriders developer People Can Fly says it hasn't seen any royalties from Square Enix yet, and doesn't even know how many copies of the game were sold.
The developer was due to receive royalties for the game's first quarter 45 days after its release, on August 16. In an investor note that went out on Tuesday, People Can Fly says they've still not been paid, suggesting that the game "did not break even" for Square Enix (thanks, EurogamerPL).

Street Fighter V update fixes Sakura's borked face
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/street-fighter-v-update-fixes-sakuras-borked-face/
The latest update for Street Fighter V adds two new playable characters and has also, somewhat out of the blue, fixed an incredibly minor issue that fans have grumbled about for years. Sakura's model on the character select screen, which gives a little preview of the fighter being chosen, has been compared by some to a fish, and a chameleon, while others choose to go with 'bug-eyed', alien, or simply weird.

Steam Deck - GOOD NEWS! RDNA2 8CU @ 1.6ghz Only Needs 10 Watts! Let's Talk About TDP!

What it should mean is that you can use about 5-6 watts of Zen 2 while being able to fully utilize the GPU at it's full 1.6TF potential. But if a game really starts taxing the CPU, that's when the GPU will go down. But most games will be GPU bound so it's unlikely the CPU will be taxed very hard until the next gen games really gets going.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

As the saying goes, don't skimp out on the power supply. But in this case as these PSUs aren't exactly cheap, a normal user wouldn't think that it's a bad PSU unless they looked at the user reviews or videos. Yet when it comes to this PSU, it may as well be as bad as the super cheap ones. Regardless of which, Gigabyte should be ashamed of doubling down on their nonsense. They did do a soft recall and supposedly added a fix but this should have not only been done months ago but their statement sounds like it may have not fixed the issue. Still we will see how it turns out.

I'm hoping Intel Arc and the Ryzen 6000 APU's supposedly using RDNA2 leads to a big advancement in APU's. I would love to be able to make a 2-3 litre SteamOS machine with performance at least as good as the Series S but current APU's with decent GPU performance just don't exist. The 5700G has great CPU performance but still running on Vega tech, it's like a GT 1030-1050, there needs to finally be better options for truly tiny pc builds.

I'd love for a machine like this, just need to pray that an APU with decent graphics performance will one day exist.

@Captain_Yuri Definitely, since there is no sub $250 GPU's and 400 for lower end/mid range offerings from either Nvidia and AMD. If Intel goes in aggressive they could potentially shake things up and deliver the product that the mainstream gamers want - a GTX 1060/1070 of this gen. Of course that all depends on how good the cards perform and how well they are priced.

Well, those do exist... but are currently overstretched and not in stock, which means they are overpriced.

Also, RIP Epic for me. I'm officially platform orphaned.
