Friday news, the second part:

Here's a 10-minute look at Roman time-looping mystery The Forgotten City
https://www.pcgamer.com/heres-a-10-minute-look-at-roman-time-looping-mystery-the-forgotten-city/
Dear Villagers and Modern Storyteller have released an extended look at their upcoming time-looping game The Forgotten City, and it looks very promising indeed.
Set in an ancient Roman city, players will have to investigate and interact with a cast of 22 people to determine who's planning to commit a crime. The catch, though, is that if one person commits any sin, a mysterious entity will kill everybody in the city by turning them into solid gold. By using the time loop, you'll have to piece together what is going on, avoid gold-plated retribution, and hopefully catch the would-be criminal before they have the chance to put everyone else in danger.

Tropico 6 is free to try this weekend
https://www.pcgamer.com/tropico-6-is-free-to-try-this-weekend/
Dictatorship-driven city sim Tropico 6 is free to play this weekend, to celebrate the launch of its new Lobbyistico DLC.
The full base game will be free to play on Steam from today until Sunday, July 12. As is customary for free weekend events, we can probably expect there to be some sort of discount on it and the other two already-released DLCs, Spitter and The Llama of Wall Street. Right now, it's 40 percent off in the Steam Summer Sale, but this is the final day.

American Truck Simulator's next DLC wants you to really explore Idaho
https://www.pcgamer.com/american-truck-simulators-next-dlc-wants-you-to-really-explore-idaho/
American Truck Simulator's latest DLC is going to make it more worth your time to explore, thanks to the introduction of an experimental new 'Viewpoints' feature.

World of Warcraft is dropping the fee to change your character's gender
https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcraft-is-dropping-the-fee-to-change-your-characters-gender/
World of Warcraft will be dropping the $15/£13 charge to change your character's gender in the upcoming Shadowlands expansion.
Despite being able to change pretty much every other aspect of your physical appearance at the barbershop for a small amount of in-game currency relative to your character's level, the only way to change your character's gender is to pay $15/£13 through Battle.net. If you change your mind later on, you have to pay the full price once again.

Dragonqueen, Galakrond, and Demon Hunter (again!) hit in the latest wave of Hearthstone nerfs
https://www.pcgamer.com/dragonqueen-galakrond-and-demon-hunter-again-hit-in-the-latest-wave-of-hearthstone-nerfs/
They say be careful what you wish for, and although I've long agreed with the community that Hearthstone needed more balance patches, I didn't expect them to arrive with the frequency of Seinfeld reruns. The latest update, just announced by Blizzard, is an absolute doozy.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain is delayed into October
https://www.pcgamer.com/remothered-broken-porcelain-is-delayed-into-october/
Remothered: Broken Porcelain, the sequel to the very-oddly-named psychological horror game Remothered: Tormented Fathers, is going to take a little longer than expected to arrive. Publisher Modus Games said in June at the Future Games Show that it would be out on August 25, but announced today that it's been pushed back to October 20.

Quake Champions' summer update adds a new map and the Citizen Kane of weapon skins
https://www.pcgamer.com/quake-champions-summer-update-adds-a-new-map-and-the-citizen-kane-of-weapon-skins/
Quake Champions is still kicking on, long after the predicted arena shooter revival failed to eventuate. Its latest update looks like a meaty one: it introduces a new map, a handful of new weapon skins, and a swathe of tweaks and fixes.

Snowrunner will send you searching for a World War 2 relic next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/snowrunner-will-send-you-searching-for-a-world-war-2-relic-next-week/
Snowrunner is getting stuck into a bit of archaeology next week. The cold, muddy sim is about to get its first big update, accompanied by the first season pass offering, sending hardy off-roading types in search of a downed World War 2 bomber plane.

Time to finish the news with a quick look at the deals from GOG and Steam:

+GOG

+Steam

Want more? You'll have to way until next week. Until then, have a happy and gaming weekend.

Zhao entering the GPU market, or is it really China doing so.

Imagine them entering the market, and all of China buys up their CPU's, making a crap ton of holla dolla, then China buys up AMD or Nvidia via Tencent.

I wanna see how this actually pans out, but I know it's China, they like to inflate and dominate over time, and not in the fair way.

Yea maybe in like 5-7 years of not longer, they might have a competing product. As with China's cpu ventures, they are essentially as fast as old Intel Atom cpus. The main thing that's driving them is the fact that the US is preventing companies from doing business with China so the Chinese Government is opening up tons of contracts to buy even super shit PCs to try and get these companies going. If I remember correctly, chinese government has essentially banned the purchase of any new computers that has US components for the government offices and sites so that's the main reason why we have these companies popping up right now. And with that kind of funding, they might eventually catch up but as we all know, making CPUs and GPUs ain't easy but China always does have their own "tricks" loll.

Then again, we did have this rumour so maybe they aren't doing too bad in the GPU department

Looking very much forward to FC6. I hope it'll have all the cool HDR and RT stuff to test out my new build.
