from the looks of what, exactly? if wii u is still not selling AFTER receiving it's AAA exclusives then you can say that.

you have all the right to think wii u can't compete with ps360 but you are FORCED to think ps4 and nextbox can't compete with them either. if you don't that would be hypocrisy because those consoles will face their cheap predecessors too. it's also interesting when you say nintendo has a lot of convincing to do, as if the others don't have to do a thing to be successfull.

The casual owners who bought the Wii are no longer there so the Wii U is not going to profit on the vast majority of them. 

Most PS360 owners on the other hand will purchase the PS4 or NextBox in the next gen rather than purchasing a console that is marginably more powerful.  The fact that Wii U has received PS360 ports that look the same already killed it in their minds because it's not a graphically intessive console as they're going to see once the PS4 and NextBox actually reach the market.  The Wii U will be a second or third console for some, but not a primary.

Not only that, but there is one group of casual gamers who are going to more than likely upgrade to the PS4 or NextBox over the others.  The group of casual gamers that started playing games because of Call of Duty.  The people who got into gaming this gen and own nothing but military shooters.  They're either going to stay on the PS360 and purchase the ports that came to the system, or they're going to upgrade to PS4 or Next Box once they stop getting ports of the games.

PC gamers will probably not jump over to consoles if they haven't already.

There is no comparison yet especially considering we know that Nintendo is pouring a huge amount of resources into game development. If Vita had games of this calibre and sales history coming to it it would be different.

the tradicional gamers that compose a BIG chunk of wii sales are still there, it might surprise you but the group of people who hate nintendo and will never buy their consoles is actually a minority.

You don't seriously expect Killzone and niche Japanese titles to move more units than Zelda, Mario and Mario Kart, do you? Vita has a few (very few) really good games going for it, and Wii U is in a similar situation, but Wii U's games have a much higher chance of becoming system-sellers.

I'm not offended, I think it's a perfectly valid comparison but I also believe Wii U's future looks better than Vita's. I own a Wii U and am happy with it, and I plan on getting a Vita later this year. I'm a Nintendo fan, yes, but I enjoy playing all sorts of games. I just think it's sad how Sony is treating its own system right now. At least Nintendo acknowledged that there's something wrong and are doing what they can to help (though yes, I agree they could do better).

And it'll be very interesting when the next PlayStation and Xbox have terrible first years and people go through this ALL OVER AGAIN.

Yup, both are kind of failing at this point. The Wii U has a better chance of recovering though.

I never said there's a big group of gamers who hate Nintendo, but Nintendo fans act like the Wii U is going to sell Wii numbers when it's not even going to come close.  They don't want to accept that the Wii sold to millions of households that don't even game and most of those people are not going to buy another console, much less be duped into buying another gimmick after spending no more than a week with the first one playing Wii Sports.  I personally know a lot of people who don't game at all who bought a Wii because of the hype surrounding it.  I thought the Wii being a huge fad was common knowledge?  Don't tell me you actually think that more fans bought the console than people that got suckered into getting it?  

The Gamecube didn't sell much despite having a great line up of quality exclusives and receiving decent third party support.  The Wii has more support than the Gamecube, but not nearly as many of them are quality.  You really believe that it wasn't the casual gamer and that Nintendo fans finally decided to start supporting Nintendo after two systems lagged far behind the competition? 

I'm not bashing Nintendo.  I'm just using common sense.  The fact that most of the better multiconsole titles are going to be paired with the HD Twins and the Wii U no longer has the backing of the casual gamers who bought into the Wii, the Wii U is going to come in last place this gen.  It's not going to fail, because with one game purchase Nintendo is making their money back, it's just not going to sell like you think it's going to, no matter how many Mario titles are released.
