Forums - Sony - PS3 guarantee million sellers by the end of 08

@Darthdevidem01

I didn't add RE5 and Fallout 3 because I have no idea the release date, but if they can make it before December, both will be million seller for sure.

And yes, I forgot Motorstorm 2, release date?

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Nah, LBP will not sell well. You are extremly overestimating it.

@kingofwale

I think Motorstorm 2 is a GDC announcement with a Fall release...

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Falout 3 seems iffy as well.

For comparison's sake, it took COD4, released during the holiday season, 11 weeks to break a million, and it was far more anticipated than Fallout.

Hot Shots Golf, Little Big Planet, and Killzone 2 will not. Killzone only sold 750k, on a much more successful system. Granted, it wasn't a good game, but I don't think that Killzone 2 will improve much, especially since Liberation wasn't great either. I hope I'm wrong and that it turns out good, but I don't expect much from it. Hot Shots Golf is not a huge seller, and Little Big Planet is completely unproven. It will have to be amazing for the general public to catch on.

Those 11 weeks to break a million were in Others alone.

but you need to factor in the increase of userbase. You are probably looking at 16-18 million PS3 in the market by Nov 08.

& MADDEN 09 as well...

Hot Shots Golf might surprise and get a million. I wouldn't be money on it though.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

In America too, actually, they're tracking almost exactly the same.

One of the most-anticipated titles of the year needed five weeks to break a million. How does Fallout 3, with a much-smaller fan base, beat that even with a larger user base? In terms of popularity, the games aren't even in the same league, and most Fallout fans are PC gamers.
