I think you forgot about "From Russia with Love" plezbo. Goldfinger is a close second though.

No, plezbo is right.

From Russia With Love is the best book.  Not the best movie.

Spurgeonryan, trust me man, I LOVE From Russia With Love, and if it is your favorite, I can totally see why. Hell, it is Connery's favorite, so much so that he agreed to be in the video game when they made it in 2005 (or whenever). Having Goldfinger and From Russia With Love in your top 2 shows that our tastes match fairly well, as these are my two favorite Bond movies, and truthfully, two of my favorite movies in general.

Forget you!

Goldfinger was the start of craziness. That is all. Lasers throught the crotche, killer hats, a whole Army base falling on command instead of just blasting the planes out of the sky and bunker busting Goldfingers house once he left with bond. Cars made of gold transporting them over seas (was gold really that expensive back then for this to matter?)

Then the second girl that he met was a frakin tease. She should have gave it up to him while they were either in the car or hiding on the hill.

Epic Fail!

The start of the craziness was that movie where Q gave Bond the attache case with tear gas, one villain had a garrote cord in his watch, and another villain had a venom laced dagger housed in her boot.  That was crazy.  If you like the realistic stuff, then On Her Majesty's Secret Serice must be your favorite.  What?  You've never watched it?  Nevermind.

Seriously though, over the top gadgets (craziness as you call it) are perfectly fine in a Bond film.  Goldfinger and the Spy Who Loved Me are two perfect examples of this.

amp316... to a person who did not enjoy a lot of Bond movies (there were some, but only older ones, and not even all of them) which Bond movie would you recommend? (Though it looks like Goldfinger is your favourite ;P)

The best ones IMO are Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Licence To Kill.  Casino Royale is pretty good too.

OHMSS and Licence to Kill are the most different if that's what you are asking.

Well even though I own them all, I cannot find them. So I went to my local Half Priced books and bought some Moore and Dalton ones that I saw there on VHS. So we shall see Mr. 316! How do you take your Martini?
