Forums - Nintendo - All right gamrConnect, we're going to play Zelda games together!

Games played so far during this year:
- Majora's Mask
- Ocarina of Time Master Quest
- The Wind Waker
- Twilight Princess
- A Link to the Past
- Zelda NES (only first quest)
- Zelda II (almost finished)

Find both Zelda's NES hard, especially Zelda II, guess I need more practice. Combat is maybe the best in 2D Zeldas, also the experience points system is well done.

Zelda and Zelda II, along with A Link to the Past, have the best overworld, is simply fantastic how many secrets are there. Every heart or magic contanier is important to continue during the game. Hope Skyward Sword feels like a Zelda/Zelda II in 3D.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Wow they really have to change the Rupee system in the next Zelda because Rupees are very useless in Twilight Princess. 90% of the time my pouch is full and pretty much every chests are still closed because the Rupees couldn't fit in my wallet. Enemies alone give you plenty enough of Rupees.

Donate to the church in Hyrule Town and the shop in Kakariko. These two tasks are available relatively early in the game and take several thousand rupees to complete. If you spend your money there, then the only way to have too many rupees is by searching every nook and cranny of the game for treasure chests.

I did give money to the shop in Kakariko but I was done paying after a very short while.

I never heard about the church in Hyrule Town...Unless you mean the one guy to whom we can give money but why would I do it? And how much until something happens?

You get a heart piece for donating 1,000 rupees.

I guess you kill every enemy in sight, if you are able to get so much money in such a short timeframe. Another way to get rid of money is to fill up all of your three bomb bags to the max with the three different bomb types in the bomb shop of Kakariko, but that's just something I like to do, because it like how it looks in the menu.

lol I just gave him the 1000 rupee and went to give some bugs to that girl and I'm now full again XD.

Just finished TP with everything completed except the poes (and perhaps the odd overworld chest, though I think I got most of the important ones (heart pieces and the orange rupees, though as the current discussion shows, the rupees aren't particularly important)

I love the music that played for the second stage of the final battle.

I stopped playing TP for a while (I got "addicted" to other games :p) but finally I could play it for a few minutes yesterday and got the Master Sword. The puzzle to get it (the one with the stone statues) was fun and I don't really know how I resolved it lol.

I found one of those stones you have to howl and I don't really remember if it's the first time I did it correctly. It appeared a cool cinema with the wolf and a castle. It only appears once in the game? I suppose I never got it correctly, I thought there would be some point that someone would teach me the song or something like that.

Oh and another question. Is there a way to get out of the sacred forest where the Master Sword is found? I couldn't find any exit so I had to teleport.

There are several of these stones and they make a golden wolf appear somewhere in Hyrule who then teaches you a new sword technique if you meet up with him.

There's a way out of the sacred forest, but there's not much of a point to it, because warping is more convenient anyway. It's possible that the first time you are in the forest the way to get out is blocked in some way though in order to force the player to use the new warp mechanic.

thanks!, yeah as I thought, I remember finding some of those stones but never could play them correctly. I thought it would be like in Ocarina and someone would teach me the songs. Oh well... I'll have to look them again.

If you find a another stone, then sit down in front of it to howl, but don't press anything and it plays the song for you in ghostly notes and shows you on the scale when to start each different note (though there are only 3 notes). If you leave it without pressing anything it will keep repeating the tune for you as well, which is useful as some of the longer ones are hard to get right by memory.

Also when you first play the tune the trail left by your notes shows you if you are getting it right.

Just started playing LoZ"OoT 3D and I just got past sneaking into the castle and meeting up with the princess and I must say that its been a while when an RPG made me say "ok...so...wtf do I do know?" or "hey, whats that cave over yonder?" or "htf do I get over there?". Such a refreshing change from most of the linear as hell RPGs these days and am enjoying it so far. Although I cant figure out for the life of me what the hell those stone things with fairies in them are for. If i strike it i get the in-game time. anyways, nobody tell me, i'll figure it out (hopefully) as i progress through the game.

It's something you'll figure out when you get older and wiser. Trust me.

wut? wait, dont tell me. I wanna squeeze every single bit of old school rpg gaming joy that i can from this game which hopefully will include driving me crazy over what to do next lol!

I've neglected Twilight Princess for about a month. I took a Biostatistics course during the second summer session and I'm still having nightmares about means, standard of deviations, and chi-tests. So glad that's over with. Now I can play games again.
